There was a slight freedom that Saturday. The sun joyfully shone around, while the trees jubilated at the sight of the massive wind.

Tade phoned in. We talked. He asked me questions, and I responded. Nothing out of the blue.

Freedom in what sense? My big sis had probably gone to a program with her husband, so I had the house to myself. Or should I say I was home alone, rethinking my choices?

We (Tade and I) spoke for as long as my memory serves me. It was a good time, to be honest.

And so, Tade said something to me, “Come over when you’re done.”

I didn’t reply immediately. I spaced out for like a minute or two, then I came back to my senses.

I just said okay, and I hurriedly finished my chores for that day before heading out to meet with Tade.

Knock, knock, knock. ✊

“Who’s there?” said Tade.

“It’s me; your one and only,” I replied.

He opened the door, and he didn’t hug me, just like he always did before. I noticed, and I could already guess what type of play was gonna go down.

“Who is Mayowa? Why did you have to kiss him the first time? Second and the third?”

“Fine, you explained the first one was a mistake. How about the second? Let’s not forget about the third time too.”

“I trusted you because I know you’d never do something like that, and honestly, I thought Mayowa was the bad person, but now I know you are.”

“How come it happened three times? You wanted it to happen? I just know it.”

I tried to utter words, but I kept stammering because I knew I had ruined the perfect life we both had.

I could only apologize as I watched him tear up.

I tried to move closer to him, but he told me not to touch him or come any closer.

I knew that was that about that. Is Tade’s chapter closing? Why would he do this to me???

I guess I’m the Author of my own tears.

Just as I was deep in my soliloquy state, I heard my name, but it didn’t sound like it came from around me. It sounded like I was being called from up above.

And so, I heard the name three more times, and… just like that I opened my eyes and saw the little hole in the ceiling.

I couldn’t make sense of what happened, I kept asking myself. Is this a dream? Even though it’s occurred as a dream..

I took my hands to the most private part of my body, and I just thank my stars it was just a dream..

A part of me was happy I didn’t go through all of that. But what if I’ve just told someone story? What if that’s someone’s reality?

What if that perfectly describes someone else, somewhere?

I laughed for as long as my muscles could flex, and I just stood up to do what I was posed to do.

The End

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.

We pick the top 3.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Contributors" tab on the rankings page.
Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
This page also shows the top engagers on an all-time & monthly basis.
