A World Where Peace Is Only Said
We live in a world<p>where peace is only said,</p><p>but never truly felt</p><p>where the struggle of being alive</p><p>has slowly become a war.</p><p><br/></p><p>A generation without thought,</p><p>where every student depends on a machine</p><p>to create the ideas</p><p>meant for their tomorrow.</p><p><br/></p><p>A world where children</p><p>no longer know what it feels like</p><p>to simply be children,</p><p>where every child</p><p>struggles for freedom.</p><p><br/></p><p>Young girls are married off</p><p>by their parents for money,</p><p>while young boys grow entitled</p><p>to an invisible hope</p><p>of becoming someone great.</p><p><br/></p><p>Fraud becomes a source of income</p><p>because skills are killed</p><p>by the very people</p><p>who were supposed to make them valuable.</p><p><br/></p><p>And somehow,</p><p>as the struggles become greater,</p><p>we forget the things</p><p>that matters most.</p><p><br/></p><p>We begin to measure ourselves</p><p>by the weight of our pockets,</p><p>as if money could tell us</p><p>who we are.</p><p><br/></p><p>Young girls grow tired,</p><p>unsure of what they want,</p><p>dreaming only of marrying a man</p><p>who has achieved</p><p>what they could not.</p><p><br/></p><p>And young men chase survival</p><p>without knowing how to build</p><p>the very future</p><p>they were told to dream about.</p><p><br/></p><p>Some give up</p><p>and live lives</p><p>that were never the best of them.</p><p><br/></p><p>Some try to protect</p><p>the little spark inside them</p><p>only for society</p><p>to extinguish it.</p><p><br/></p><p>And still we ask:</p><p><br/></p><p>How do we become wealthy?</p><p><br/></p><p>But perhaps the question</p><p>was never only about money.</p><p><br/></p><p>Because in this world,</p><p>one has to go down</p><p>while another rises.</p><p><br/></p><p>One dream is buried</p><p>so another can breathe.</p><p><br/></p><p>One person loses</p><p>so another can win.</p><p><br/></p><p>And somewhere between</p><p>the struggle to survive</p><p>and the hunger to become great,</p><p><br/></p><p>we forget</p><p>what it means</p><p>to simply be human.</p>
