The only thing I could think of when I saw this competition was food. π And not just any food, but bread and beans from a shop down my street.

Let me explain.Β

If you know me, you know I love good food. But you see this particular bread and beans? Ehn. Nothing has come close.

So, there was this particular day I was too tired to cook. And if you know me, you know I love to cook my meals myself. But even someone like me gets tired sometimes, and hunger does not care about your love for cooking. π

So I stopped at a shop down my street to get something to eat. Nothing serious, really. No high expectations. Just food. Let me eat and move on with my life.

You see, I have been disappointed by good-looking food and vendors enough times to know that sometimes, it is better not to expect too much. I love good food, but I have learnt not to get too excited about trying new places. At this point, I trust my own cooking more. ππ

But this woman and her beans? Ha!

First of all, I had stopped eating beans for a long time because of a reaction I used to experience after eating it. So you can imagine that beans was not even something I was particularly looking forward to falling in love with again.

But somehow, this particular bread and beans found me. π

And when I tell you I have been obsessed ever since, I mean OBSESSED.

I have eaten good food. I have tried different meals from different vendors. I have ordered from different places, and some of them are genuinely good. But you see this woman's beans? Nothing beats it. NOTHING.

And the funniest part is that I LOVE TO COOK. I enjoy trying recipes, combining ingredients, and making sure my food tastes really good. In my secondary school yearbook, my best food was written as *"personally prepared moderately spicy noodles."* π

Now, my best food is ofada rice, personally cooked by ME. And if you have tasted my ofada and ofada sauce, you will understand why. In fact, on Sunday evenings, you can already perceive it. ππβ€οΈ

I know my way around a kitchen. I enjoy cooking for myself, and I enjoy eating good food even more.

But beans? Ehn. Beans has humbled me.

I have tried. I really have. I have cooked beans in different ways, hoping that one day I would finally get it right. But somehow, I have never been able to cook beans that tastes good enough to impress even me.

Then this woman is somewhere down my street, casually making beans that beats everything I have ever tried. Every single time.

Imagine being able to cook so many things and still having to go outside to buy beans because somebody else does it better than you. ππ

Anyway, I actually went to her shop today to buy some more, but it wasn't ready. So I'll check back later sha. Because what exactly do you mean the beans I have been thinking about is not ready? ππ

Honestly, I didn't go there expecting to discover anything special. I was just hungry and too tired to cook. But somehow, a random decision to buy food from a shop down my street has turned into one of my favourite food discoveries.

And if you ask me what one of my best purchases is, I might, what am I saying, I will not remember the last expensive thing I bought, but I will remember this woman's bread and beans.

In my opinion, the best things you discover are the ones you never expected much from.

But you see bread and beansssssssss?

**Please, if you know, you KNOW.** ππβ€οΈ

And if you see me going back to that shop again, just know that I'm not looking for alternatives. I've found what I like, and I'm staying right here. πβ€οΈ
