DEADLY WHISPER
<p>Some mistakes are meant to scar you.</p><p>But sometimes, they do more than leave a mark they choke you, drown you, and slowly pull the life out of you.</p><p><br/></p><p>Mine didnโt just hurt meโฆ</p><p>Mine killed me while I was still alive.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sighsโฆ</p><p><br/></p><p>Today is supposed to be my birthday.</p><p><br/></p><p>But what exactly is there to celebrate?</p><p><br/></p><p>My life started falling apart two years ago on this very day, so I refuse to pretend like itโs a day worth celebrating.</p><p><br/></p><p>Iโm not celebrating anything.</p><p><br/></p><p>I held onto my bag tightly as I walked down the street โ not because I was afraid of thieves, but because I was afraid of a smell. A smell that had haunted me for fourteen months.</p><p><br/></p><p>As I crossed the flyover at Oja Oba, I saw a baby home shop, a place filled with tiny clothes, toys, and everything meant for little hands.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then I saw her.</p><p><br/></p><p>A woman gently trying to fit a piece of clothing onto her baby.</p><p><br/></p><p>And suddenly, I heard it.</p><p><br/></p><p>A whisper.</p><p><br/></p><p>โWhy are you smiling?โ</p><p><br/></p><p>My body froze.</p><p><br/></p><p>โ You killed yours, remember?โ</p><p><br/></p><p>A cold shiver ran down my spine. The world around me blurred, and before I could control myself, a scream escaped my lips.</p><p><br/></p><p>People started murmuring.</p><p><br/></p><p>โDamnโฆ sheโs too young to be this broken.โ</p><p><br/></p><p>โPoor girlโฆโ</p><p><br/></p><p>A small tear slipped down my face.</p><p><br/></p><p>Those pretty eyes that once carried so much hope now carried a pain nobody could see.</p><p><br/></p><p>A young girl battling a mind that refused to let her forget.</p><p><br/></p><p>I was only returning from my therapistโs office. She was trying her best, but somehow, nothing seemed to be working.</p><p><br/></p><p>And the hardest part?</p><p><br/></p><p>Only I knew the truth about what was really happening inside me.</p><p><br/></p>
