DO YOU Be yourself. Honestly, one thing I've learnt is that you can never satisfy everybody. So at some point, you just have to look at yourself and say, "Abeg, make I do me...." Because people will always have something to say. If you dress well, you're forming.If you dress simply, you're suffering. If you post pictures every day, you're looking for attention.If you don't post, they'll ask, "Hope all is well?" If you talk a lot, you're too loud.If you're quiet, you're proud.If you mind your business, you're acting weird.If you join everybody's business, you're too nosy. So which one exactly do you people want? 😭😂 Even when you're doing something with good intentions, somebody somewhere will still find a way to misunderstand you. And that's why you have to stop living your life based on people's opinions. Because let's be very honest, their opinion won't pay your bills. When NEPA takes light, nobody's opinion will bring it back. 😂When your rent is due, nobody's gossip will pay it.When you're hungry, "people will say" cannot buy you food. So why are you stressing yourself trying to impress everybody? Do what makes you happy. Wear the clothes you like.Take the pictures you want.Start that business.Apply for that job.Learn that skill.Post that content.Go back to school.Change your career.Cut your hair if you want to.Grow your hair if you want to. As long as you're not hurting anybody, abeg, breathe. Not everybody has to understand your journey. Some people will look at you and think you're doing too much. Someone else will look at the same thing and think you're not doing enough. You cannot use people's mouths as your compass because you'll just be doing left, right, left, right until you get tired. 😂 And please, stop comparing your life to other people's lives. You see somebody posting a new car and suddenly you're questioning your whole existence. "God, what am I doing with my life?" 😭 Meanwhile, you don't know if the person has been saving for five years, took a loan, got help from family, or is simply living their own reality. Social media will make somebody who just ate bread and egg start feeling like they're behind in life. 😂 Everybody's journey is different. You came into this world with your own name, your own story and your own path. You didn't come here with a group of people holding a meeting to decide what your life should look like. And one day, you're going to leave this world too. So while you're here, live. Make mistakes. Learn. Grow. Change your mind. Try again. You don't have to remain the same person you were five years ago just because people are already used to that version of you. If you outgrow something, outgrow it. If you no longer like something, leave it. If your dream changes, adjust. If you discover something new about yourself, embrace it. People might say, "But this isn't the person we knew." And you can simply say, "Exactly. I've grown." 😂 You don't owe everybody an explanation for every chapter of your life. Some people will talk about you for five minutes and move on with their lives, while you're there at 2 a.m. replaying what they said in your head. Why? Let them talk. They'll get tired eventually. And if they don't, congratulations, you've become their full-time job. 😭😂 Just make sure you're living right, treating people well, and staying true to yourself. Because at the end of the day, when everybody has gone back to their own homes and their own problems, na you go still remain with your life. So abeg... Stop shrinking yourself to make other people comfortable. Stop hiding your happiness because you're scared somebody will call you proud. Stop delaying your dreams because you're worried about what people will say. Stop trying to prove yourself to people who have already decided what they want to believe about you. Do you. Be yourself. Live your life. Mind your business. Pay your bills. 😂 Chase your dreams. And let people talk. Because honestly... If talking was a profession, some Nigerians would be billionaires by now. 😭😂
