Globalization and Cultural Erosion

Hey there , I bring to you , a rollercoaster!!!

Let's start with cultural erosion. This refers to the gradual weakening or loss of a society's traditions, beliefs, norms, customs, values. So I just finished listening to an audiobook ( here on twocents) that was explaining that some things that are normal today but was not normal a few years ago. So I thought to add it to my insight. This is where cultural erosion comes in because in today's world , a lot of societies are beginning to abandon their cultures, traditions and norms.

Globalization is when countries or societies become interrelated or interdependent through the movement of people, goods and products, technology and ideas. Globalization have good effects as well as bad ones and that is what led us to cultural erosion( which I believe is one of the bad effects of globalization). Like I said earlier , a lot of societies are abandoning their traditional cultures and adopting foreign norms and values.

Xenocentrism refers to an individual's belief that his/her own cultures , traditions, belief, values and norms are inferior compared to another society's culture and traditions. Xenocentrism is the reason why the trends and "normal" of today is a huge gap and difference of what used to be normal yesterday.

So my question is , are the Gen z of today xenocentric ? Is that why a lot of young people of today are abandoning the cultures and traditions of their forefather ? And I noticed that this new trends and cultures people are adopting are mostly from the Europeans and the Americans. And my final question for today is, do you think your culture and traditions are inferior compared to theirs ?

I will be waiting for my answers and to the people that read my previous insight , I hope you are doing good because I feel so much better. Glory be to God.
