Health is wealth.

Health Is Wealth

Some days ago, we lost a friend in the space I’m building.

A very young and enthusiastic guy.

He was just 21 years old.

He had a minor sickness, went to the hospital and got admitted. Before we even knew what was going on, he fell into a coma.

The weird part is, he survived all of that.

He eventually came back, joking about the whole scenario and even telling everyone to take care of their health because health is wealth.

Then, after a while, we stopped hearing from him.

One day turned into two.

Two turned into more.

Until we got the news that he had died.

I was shocked.

This was a very young and promising man.

He had such an enthusiastic and agile spirit. He was trying to learn, connect with people and figure life out.

And just like that...

Gone.

I genuinely felt terrible about it.

It also reminded me of a creator I once came across who lost her sister to overworking.

The experience shocked her so much that she had to rethink her entire life and restructure the way she lived because she was also constantly overworking herself.

Imagine hustling and working your entire life, only to lose your life in the process.

Without even getting the chance to enjoy what you were working so hard for.

So sad, fr.

We’ve also heard stories of doctors who slumped and died from overworking.

Imagine spending a large part of your life studying medicine, then working endless shifts because the hospital you’re in doesn’t have enough doctors.

Like, what’s the point?

Sincerely, I don’t think I could go into medicine; whether nursing or medicine and surgery because I genuinely don’t understand how people do work that much.

And I say that with the utmost respect.

I really admire everyone in that field.

But I don't think it's for me.

It's ironical that the ones who preach and hammer health is wealth into us might not even be living an healthy life.

Okay, looks like I’ve deviated.

But maybe I haven't.

Because all of this brings me back to one thing:

Health truly is wealth.

If you fall seriously ill, you’ll understand that statement differently.

When you’re not in good health, you won’t even feel comfortable doing the things you once thought were so important.

You suddenly don't have appetite for the food you craved.

So please, don’t overdo things.

Don’t overwork yourself for anything.

Even if you have to work hard, don't work yourself into the ground.

Because you actually have to be alive to spend all this money you’re trying to make.

You need to be alive to use the certificate you’re slaving for.

You need to be alive to enjoy the life you’re working so hard to get.

Life is fickle.

And it is short.

We keep telling ourselves that things will always get better, but the truth is, sometimes they don't.

And the saddest part?

All these things we're killing ourselves to get...

It ends here

We won't even carry our bodies with us when we die.

So what's the point?

This is me saying: rethink some of the decisions you make concerning your health.

Rethink the kind of life you want to live.

And maybe even rethink the kind of profession you choose to venture into.

I don't know about you, but personally, I don't want to spend the rest of my life working.

I want to enjoy every penny I earn.

I want to live.

Not just survive and survive.

And if you're experiencing any health issue or challenge, speak up as soon as possible.

Don't keep saying, “I know my body.”

Make your body no wyne you.

Because if you die working for money and the money eventually comes, the people who are still alive will be the ones spending it for you.

Think about it.
