<p>They say life gets better</p><p>if you build it carefully </p><p>a steady job,</p><p>a warm house,</p><p>someone waiting at the end of the day</p><p>who knows your name without asking.</p><p>But no one tells you</p><p>how heavy “better” can feel</p><p>when it starts to look like a cage</p><p>lined with soft pillows.</p><p>Is it worth it</p><p>to trade wild mornings</p><p>for predictable nights?</p><p>To choose comfort</p><p>over the sharp, electric ache</p><p>of possibility?</p><p>They say love is everything.</p><p>Marriage, vows, rings,</p><p>two lives stitched together</p><p>like permanence can be promised</p><p>by witnesses and paper.</p><p>But what if forever</p><p>turns out to be a room</p><p>where your laughter echoes alone?</p><p>What if happiness arrives…</p><p>and quietly leaves</p><p>without announcing its departure?</p><p>Is it worth it</p><p>to risk a lifetime</p><p>for the chance at not sleeping alone?</p><p>Or is it braver</p><p>to wake up every day</p><p>with no one beside you,</p><p>no one to disappoint,</p><p>no one to lose</p><p>just the long, honest silence</p><p>of your own company?</p><p>People say friendship saves us.</p><p>Make connections.</p><p>Collect souls.</p><p>Fill your phone with names</p><p>so you’re never stranded.</p><p>But how many smiles are rehearsed?</p><p>How many “I’ve got you”</p><p>fade when you actually fall?</p><p>How do you know</p><p>who would stay</p><p>if you stopped being useful,</p><p>funny,</p><p>strong?</p><p>Is it better</p><p>to be surrounded</p><p>or to be certain?</p><p>Better to have many voices</p><p>or one that never lies?</p><p>Maybe that’s the cruel joke of living:</p><p>every path costs something</p><p>you won’t understand</p><p>until you can’t go back.</p><p>The married envy the free.</p><p>The free envy the held.</p><p>The crowded crave quiet.</p><p>The lonely crave noise.</p><p>No one wins cleanly.</p><p>So I stand here,</p><p>not broken,</p><p>not whole,</p><p>just aware </p><p>aware that every choice</p><p>is a door that locks behind you,</p><p>every comfort hides a sacrifice,</p><p>every freedom comes with its own ache.</p><p>And I don’t know</p><p>if I want a life that feels safe</p><p>or one that feels alive.</p><p>I don’t know</p><p>if I want to be deeply known</p><p>or perfectly untouchable.</p><p>I don’t know</p><p>if the risk of losing everything</p><p>is worse</p><p>than the certainty of never having it.</p><p>All I know is</p><p>time keeps moving</p><p>whether I decide or not,</p><p>whether I leap or stay still,</p><p>whether I build something</p><p>or quietly drift.</p><p>And someday</p><p>I will look back</p><p>at the life I chose </p><p>or the life I avoided </p><p>and finally have an answer</p><p>that comes far too late</p><p>to change anything.</p><p>So tell me…</p><p>when the moment comes</p><p>and the door is open</p><p>and no one can choose for me </p><p>which loss</p><p>am I supposed to live with?</p>

The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
