I Finally Met MY MAN On TWO CENTS. PART 2

You people asked for the story. So here it is.

Okay.

First of all, let me just say,

I did not plan this.

If somebody had told me a few months ago that I would be writing this, I would have laughed.

Me?

Writing about a man?

On Two Cents?

Please. 😂

But life has a funny way of embarrassing you with the exact thing you once said would never happen.

It started innocently enough.

A conversation.

Nothing serious.

The kind where you say something, he replies, you laugh, he says something else, and before you know it, you're wondering why you've been holding your phone for thirty minutes.

I noticed he had a way of talking to me that was different.

Not loud.

Not forced.

Just… intentional.

He'd check in.

Sometimes casually.

Sometimes right when I needed it.

“How are you doing?”

And because I didn't want him to know I liked the attention, I'd give him the most unserious answer possible.

“I'm fine.”

He never believed me.

“That's not an answer.”

I'd roll my eyes at my phone.

Who gave this man permission to know when I'm lying? 😭

We started talking more.

And the funny thing about talking to someone you like is that eventually, the conversations stop needing an excuse.

You don't need:

“I wanted to ask you something.”

You just appear.

“Have you eaten?”

“What are you doing?”

“Guess what happened today.”

“Are you still awake?”

And somehow, “goodnight” started becoming a negotiation.

“Goodnight.”

“Goodnight.”

Two minutes later:

“Wait, one more thing…”

😂

There were days he made me laugh when I was genuinely having a terrible day.

There were days I wanted to tell him something before I even remembered that I hadn't told anybody else.

And there were days when he annoyed me so badly that I would put my phone down and say,

“I'm not replying this boy again.”

Twenty minutes later:

typing…

😭

Don't judge me.

We had our little quarrels too.

Nothing dramatic.

Just those stupid disagreements that begin with something tiny and somehow become:

“So that's what you think about me?”

Then silence.

Then pride.

Then more silence.

Until one of us finally said:

“Are you still angry?”

And the other would reply:

“No.”

Liar.

😂

But somehow, we always found our way back.

I began noticing things.

He remembered what I said.

He remembered things I didn't expect him to remember.

If I mentioned something once, he could bring it up weeks later like he'd filed it somewhere.

Sometimes he'd even notice when my energy changed before I said anything.

And that one?

That one got me.

Because there's something about being noticed without having to ask to be noticed.

You start wondering:

“When did you start paying this much attention?”

I never asked.

He never explained.

We just kept going.

Then one evening, we had one of those conversations that starts with absolute nonsense and somehow becomes deep.

We laughed.

We argued.

We talked about life.

We talked about people.

We talked about things we wanted.

Things we feared.

Things we probably shouldn't have admitted that early.

And somewhere in the middle of all of it, he said something that stayed with me.

Not because it was romantic.

Actually, it wasn't romantic at all.

It was just…

true.

I went quiet for a moment.

He noticed.

“What?”

“Nothing.”

“You're thinking.”

“Maybe.”

“About me?”

I laughed.

“Don't flatter yourself.”

He laughed too.

And that was the problem.

I was beginning to enjoy this man.

Not because he was perfect.

But because around him, even ordinary things had a way of becoming memorable.

A random conversation.

A stupid joke.

A disagreement.

A quiet moment.

A simple check-in.

They started becoming ours.

Then something happened that I didn't expect.

I disappeared.

Not because I was angry.

Life just happened.

School.

Work.

Family.

The usual madness.

I wasn't around as much.

And when I finally returned, there was a message waiting for me.

Nothing dramatic.

Just:

“You disappeared.”

I stared at it.

Then smiled.

Because apparently…

somebody had noticed.

I replied:

“I was busy.”

The response came almost immediately.

“I know. I still noticed.”

…

Yeah.

That one entered somewhere it had no business entering. 😭

And that's when I realized this thing had moved beyond casual.

Because I wasn't just enjoying his company anymore.

I was becoming attached to the feeling of being known by him.

And then came the moment that changed everything.

The moment I discovered something about him that I had never considered.

Something so ordinary.

So obvious.

That I genuinely don't know how I missed it.

And when I finally noticed it, I sat there for a while and thought:

“Wait…”

Because suddenly, all those little things started making sense.

The way he talked.

The way he showed up.

The way he remembered.

The way he always seemed to know exactly when to appear.

Everything.

And no, I'm not telling you yet. 😂

Because after all this suspense, I refuse to let you people solve the case before I'm ready.

Let's just say…

I thought I had met a man.

I didn't know I had met something......

👀

Part 3.
