He didn't curse her.</p><p>He just knelt in the dust, pulled me into his chest, and whispered:</p><p>“My daughter, I am sorry you had to get hit trying to protect me. But you cannot fight this fight well. I know Who can.”</p><p>I watched how the earth answered for him later, and I learned that You keep the ledger he refuses to touch.</p><p>You made him soft in a city built of iron.</p><p>You watched them hand him stones while he gave them bread.</p><p>You watched them pick his bones clean, cheating his kindness at every turn, yet he never stopped.</p><p>Even when his own body began to fail him, something in him refused to.</p><p>There are things about him I have never quite understood.</p><p>The way he can be tired and still show up.</p><p>The way disappointment reaches him and somehow leaves without taking the best parts.</p><p>The way he keeps returning to the things he has always believed in.</p><p>He taught me, without meaning to, that some things are worth choosing again and again.. and<span style="background-color: transparent;"> somehow, somewhere along the way, I found that I was carrying the same heart.</span></p><p>How is Your son supposed to survive this world with a soul like that?</p><p>How do You let a man bleed gold his entire life and still get paid in dust?</p><p>I am telling You this because You know him.</p><p>Do not let him return to You empty-handed.</p><p>Do not let him spend his whole life being good just to crawl home with a beggar's portion.</p><p>Let him live long enough to see that the goodness he gave away was not wasted.</p><p>Let him have some of what he has spent his life giving to everyone else.</p><p>Let him have more than he has ever asked for.</p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">Break the rule.</span></p><p>Break it.</p><p>Keep him so long, that four generations can drink from the well of kindness.</p><p>Let the world choke on his shadow for a long, long time, because I am not ready for the dark without him.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Still calling,</strong></p><p><strong>Your child.</strong></p>

For the Top Engagers Track, we award the top 3 people who engage the most with other user's content via
comments.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Engagers" tab on the rankings page.
Most Engaged Content
The Most Engaged Content recognizes users whose content received the most engagement during the month.
We pick the top 3.

Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
