<p>I SUVIVEEED!</p><p>I AM A SURVIVOR AND A SuPErHeRo.</p><p>Menstrual cramps have been with me for so long that I’ve learnt how to endure them.</p><p><br/></p><p>I mean, we grew up together.</p><p><br/></p><p>It came visiting unannounced, aggressively taking over how I felt.</p><p><br/></p><p>Taking control of my body.</p><p><br/></p><p>The first time I had menstrual cramps, I thought I was going to need surgery.</p><p><br/></p><p>It was the morning of an English class. I felt strange while getting dressed for school, but I ignored it. I just drank water, guessing I was dehydrated.</p><p><br/></p><p>Oh, I should have just stayed at home.</p><p><br/></p><p>A few minutes into the class, I couldn’t take it anymore.</p><p><br/></p><p>It felt like my lower abdomen was tearing.</p><p><br/></p><p>I had heard about appendicitis. I thought I had it because surely, this couldn’t be normal.</p><p><br/></p><p>I started praying to at least make it home.</p><p><br/></p><p>Throughout the day, I couldn’t do anything. My friends stayed by my side.</p><p><br/></p><p>Good old days.</p><p><br/></p><p>I refused to accept that it was menstrual pain because what was this feeling?</p><p><br/></p><p>You can’t feel it, so why did you think it was just ovulation or menstrual pain?</p><p><br/></p><p>I was too weak to even argue.</p><p><br/></p><p>I just kept saying, “No. It’s not.”</p><p><br/></p><p>I went home and spoke to an auntie, a nurse, about this new pain.</p><p><br/></p><p>She asked me a few questions and, without telling me what was happening, handed me some medicine.</p><p><br/></p><p>I hated medicine, but what choice did I have?</p><p><br/></p><p>I took it, and the pain disappeared.</p><p><br/></p><p>This became my routine until she decided that I was getting used to the medicine and hid the tablets. I didn’t even know their name, so you can imagine.</p><p><br/></p><p>I knew how to endure the pain so well.</p><p><br/></p><p>No.</p><p><br/></p><p>My pains, they are mine. I have accepted that.</p><p><br/></p><p>But yesterday’s was not the usual.</p><p><br/></p><p>It came with intentions.</p><p><br/></p><p>The type that makes you want to know what’s really happening down there.</p><p><br/></p><p>The type that made me laugh out loud and cry. I danced. I cleaned the house in hot tears.</p><p><br/></p><p>I just wanted to distract my brain.</p><p><br/></p><p>I kid you not, I took three different doses of painkillers within seven hours, and I’m not proud of it.</p><p><br/></p><p>I lost my appetite.</p><p><br/></p><p>I can’t even explain it properly.</p><p>And in this moment I realised that no woman deserves a nonchalant partner .</p><p>No woman deserved to be asked "What do you bring to the table"?</p><p>I will actually carry that table and scatter your brain since you cannot think with it.</p><p><br/></p><p>But honestly, is menstrual and ovulation pain part of the curse God laid on Eve?</p><p><br/></p><p>Is it? 😭</p>

The Most Engaged Content recognizes users whose content received the most engagement during the month.
We pick the top 3.

Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
