Marriage is scary ...
<p>They say love is a beautiful thing, and so is marriage. But every day I wake up, I see more reasons why I shouldn’t get married.</p><p><br/></p><p>It’s either a wife dies from an STI she contracted from her unfaithful husband, a man is poisoned by his wife, or in-laws maltreat a woman simply because she married into their family.</p><p><br/></p><p>Every day, I see and hear stories that make marriage feel terrifying. And I ask myself: Why do people treat marriage like an achievement? Why do parents persuade their children into something they know can come with so much pain?</p><p><br/></p><p>Marriage is scary.</p><p><br/></p><p>But there are marriages that are healthy, filled with love, compassion, kindness, understanding, and respect. So why are the toxic ones presented to us so often?</p><p><br/></p><p>Maybe it’s because, out of 100%, only 10% of marriages are truly healthy.</p><p><br/></p><p>Marriage is scary.</p><p><br/></p><p>And somehow, it gets scarier every day.</p>
