MUMMY!!!!!!! I CANNOT FIGHT Ooooo (really world 4)

In the wake of Gen Z, we are witnessing the rise of a very interesting culture , a culture of people who claim they don’t care about public opinion but somehow need public approval to breathe.

“I am unapologetically myself.”

Okay.

But who told you being yourself automatically comes with a certificate of good behaviour? You can be yourself without becoming everybody else’s problem. You can have a personality without turning it into a public emergency.

Really world?

We have home training, but apparently, some people forgot theirs at home and then there are those who didn’t get home training at all. Not even the trial version. Some parents simply gave birth, named the child and released them into society like:

The rest is between you and God.”

No orientation.

No user manual.

No terms and conditions.

Just “Go forth, my child.” And now the rest of us are dealing with the consequences.

Because how else do we explain adults who cannot queue, apologise, lower their voices, respect personal space or understand that not every thought needs to be announced?

Some people were not raised. They were deployed, unfortunately, society is the deployment location.

Really world?

Then there are the parents who sit outside judging somebody else’s child. “Look at that child. No home training.” Meanwhile, their own child is somewhere committing three offences, two lies and a minor international incident.

But Mummy doesn’t know, Of course she doesn’t.

Her child has completed Advanced Lying 401.“Mummy, it wasn’t me.”

“Mummy, they started it.”

“Mummy, everybody was doing it.”

And Mummy believes them with the confidence of a Supreme Court judgment. Then she comes outside to conduct a seminar on how other people’s children were raised.

Really world?

Now, Mummy, this next part is specifically for you.

Mummy, you will see a lot. You will see people misbehaving. You will see children doing things that will make you wonder if their parents ever held a family meeting. You will see things that will tempt the English teacher in you to come outside and correct somebody’s child.

Please don’t, Because I am barely 60kg.

I am petite.

I am very small.

I can talk.

I cannot fight.

And that is why we are returning to the basics.

Mummy, say after me:

“It is not my business, so I will mind my business.”

Again.

“If it is not my child, it is not mine to correct.”

One more time so it enters the spirit:

“If I did not give birth to the child, I will leave the child for the person who did.”

Excellent.

Class dismissed.

Because Mummy, a whole community cannot train a child anymore. If you are not their mother, it isn’t your business or responsibility. Trust me, their mother knows, She knows, Maybe not everything, but she knows enough , even if she doesn’t know, that is between her, her child and whatever family meeting they decide to hold. You have your own child. Me. Please manage me. I am already enough work.

You trained me not to be a public nuisance,You taught me not to answer every insult,?You taught me not to fight in public. You taught me to walk away. You taught me to keep quiet when necessary. You taught me that not every provocation deserves a reaction. So I have learned to be calm.

Therefore, Mummy, if you see somebody misbehaving and decide to engage them, please remember that you raised a peaceful daughter.

A very peaceful daughter.

A daughter who believes strongly in conflict resolution ,From a safe distance.

Because if you try anything and they beat you…Mummy, I will disappear o, Not because I don’t love you, I love you very much, But I am not about to allow the lessons you spent years teaching me to suddenly disappear because you saw somebody’s child behaving anyhow.

I will shout.

I will call for help.

I may even say, “Leave my mother alone!”

But fighting? Mummy, please, I am barely 60kg, If they push me, I may need somebody to come and rescue both of us, So don’t turn around and expect me to suddenly become your personal Avengers, You trained me for peace. Please enjoy the results.

Really world?

And maybe that is the real irony of this generation, We were taught not to care what people think, but somehow we now care deeply about what people think, We were taught to express ourselves, but sometimes forgot that other people are also entitled to peace, We rejected some old rules because they felt restrictive, but in the process, some people threw away the entire manual.

Home training was never about raising quiet children who cannot defend themselves, It was about raising people who understand that being able to do something does not necessarily mean you should, because yes, you can say whatever you want, You can do whatever you want, You can behave however you want but when your behaviour consistently makes everybody around you ask,

“Who raised this person?”

At some point, we need to locate the parents, because some of you are not independent adults,You are independent variables in society’s biggest experiment and to the parents who released their children into society with no instruction manual whatsoever: Please come and collect your package.

The rest of us are tired.

Really world?
