Okirika boys Ep7: Shadow of death

What defines a man? His believes or actions? Maybe it's both. We've been in the game for over 20 years and I've started thinking we deserve more. Maybe some friends can pay together for 20 years! I thought we entered this because life and society never have us a chance. Now our choices have earned us more than we can ever need but why do we still yearn for more. For me, the spoils of our theft meant nothing anymore. We had helped rebuild our hood into a city we once dreamed of. Crazy how don't want younger kids to venture into our craft. Does time change a man or is it the vastness of his experience that births change. These days I'm rethinking everything but somehow I'm still on the fence of uncertainty. I have a son that I've hidden for 5 years. Only Nana and Storm know about him. I feel like I finally have something worth dying for. I'm really considering getting out of the game for good but Priest will be an issue. We don't work for him but he takes a cut from our matters which we don't mind. Leaving the game would mean he'd storm earning and them no de graduate from Snr Man School. You gas show workings till you kpaii.

Omo Priest don actually ment. We heard he's now called the mad king. He has been more paranoid. He speaks of nightmares were he is attacked by a shadow. He strongly believes someone is after his throne. Priest don fall like 3 of him manchis. Ground no level and him matter don cast. We heard rumors that his soldiers are in need of a new king and some have rallied for us(Me Nana and Storm) to run things but our mind no de. Oh, just so you know, we've kept a very low profile. Nothing fancy and we have the right people in our pockets. We also did a couple of high profile runs for some government officials who wanted to stay anonymous. But normally we sabi their ama so if e burst we go show dem say we de brutal. We thought it funny to wear fairly used clothes and gear during our operations. When victims were asked if they could remember anything about the perpetrators, they kept saying the same thing... Okirika smell! Yup, that's how the Label Okirika boys was formed. E still de muzz me till now.

We heard of an unknown agent who was brutal and executing some of Priest's men. His approach was interesting because it felt like it was an inside job. Whoever this guy was he sha had street orientation. I was impressed but not afraid.

One morning Priest had one of his crazy episodes. He got really violent and was attacking his men unprovoked. His men echoed and the entire hood stepped out to witness this. He kept shouting leave me, no, go away. It was not a sight for sore eyes. We arrived the seen trying to calm him down but it wasn't helpful. I could sense death in the air. As I OBS the environment I see say men eyes don red. There was a very big chance Priest's men would have lynched him which I don't mind because he deserved it. It was as though they were waiting for me to take the first strike. As I approached Priest, he pointed his hands up and said you, you, shadow... We then heard a loud gunshot and I had fragments of Priest's head on my face. As I turned to look up I saw a man in a hoodie. He took the hoodie off and I must confess it was a ghost. I froze. Strong man like me o. It was the boy we saw from the roof at the Barbershop. He pointed at us as though he meant we're next. Truly, death does come for us all and I think we just met the shadow of death.

...
