<p>I look at life, and I see opportunities.</p><p>You look at life, and you see struggles.</p><p><br/></p><p>What exactly makes the difference?</p><p><br/></p><p>It’s perspective.</p><p><br/></p><p>We all have different lenses through which we see life.</p><p><br/></p><p>I recently came across a post from one of my favourite creator; different legends’ views about life.</p><p><br/></p><p>Read through it before you continue with this insight.</p><p><img src="/media/inline_insight_image/1003089586.jpg"/></p><p>Okay, you’ll probably notice something.</p><p><br/></p><p>Everyone has completely different things to say about life.</p><p><br/></p><p>I mean, it’s the same life.</p><p><br/></p><p>It’s not like there’s another one somewhere.</p><p><br/></p><p>But then, we’re the ones who are different.</p><p><br/></p><p>Humans are not alike.</p><p><br/></p><p>And that’s where perspective comes in.</p><p><br/></p><p>Perspective is simply the way we interpret and make sense of what we experience.</p><p><br/></p><p>And a lot of things shape it.</p><p><br/></p><p>Our environment.</p><p>Our experiences.</p><p>Our upbringing.</p><p>The people around us.</p><p>The things we’ve been through.</p><p>Even the period of history we were born into.</p><p><br/></p><p>There’s a quote that says, “If you want to understand a person’s life, study what’s happening in their twenties.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Think about that.</p><p><br/></p><p>John Locke was born in a time when life was often described as “solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.”</p><p><br/></p><p>How do you expect someone born into that kind of world to see life?</p><p><br/></p><p>Now compare that to someone born into comfort, safety, and abundance.</p><p><br/></p><p>Same human species.</p><p><br/></p><p>Same life.</p><p><br/></p><p>Different experiences.</p><p><br/></p><p>Different experiences create different perspectives.</p><p><br/></p><p>And sometimes, when we disagree about life, maybe we’re not actually looking at different realities.</p><p><br/></p><p>Maybe we’re simply looking at the same reality through different lenses.</p><p><br/></p><p>Now I ask you, what is life to you?</p><p><img src="/media/inline_insight_image/1003089560.jpg"/></p>
