PRESTIGE TALK

Conversations Our Generation Needs to Have

Let's be honest.

What exactly are we doing? 😂

Because somehow, we've created a relationship category where two people talk every day, flirt, get jealous, miss each other, argue, share everything…

…but nobody knows what they actually are.

“So, what are you guys?”

“Nothing serious.”

Meanwhile, nothing serious is calling every night, asking where you are and getting upset when you don't reply.

Please. 😭

Welcome to the situationship era.

Now, I'm not saying every situationship is a bad thing. Two people can genuinely decide to keep things casual, and that's perfectly fine—if both people understand and want the same thing.

The problem starts when one person wants the benefits of a relationship without accepting the responsibility that comes with one.

You want loyalty, but you don't want commitment.

You want attention, but you don't want accountability.

You want me to act like your partner, but the moment I ask “What are we?”, suddenly you're not ready for labels.

Interesting. 😂

And honestly, sometimes the absence of a label isn't even the biggest problem.

It's the uncertainty.

You're constantly trying to read between the lines.

Does this person actually like me?

Are we exclusive?

Where is this going?

Why do they act like my partner today and a stranger tomorrow?

At some point, you're spending more time analysing the relationship than actually enjoying it.

And we need to be honest about something else:

Sometimes someone doesn't want a relationship with you. They simply don't want to lose access to you.

They enjoy your attention.

Your company.

Your affection.

Your availability.

But that doesn't necessarily mean they want to build a future with you.

And this is where people get stuck.

You keep waiting for the situation to become what you hoped it would become.

Months pass.

The feelings grow.

The expectations grow.

But the clarity never comes.

Because you're holding onto potential while the other person is comfortable with the present arrangement.

And let's not make this a blame game.

Sometimes both people know exactly what they're doing. They aren't looking for anything serious, and neither person expects more.

That's clarity.

The problem is when two people are having completely different experiences inside the same connection.

One person is thinking, “We're getting there.”

The other is thinking, “We're just having fun.”

And nobody says it out loud.

So perhaps the real question isn't:

“Are situationships good or bad?”

It's:

“Are we actually on the same page?”

Because asking “What are we?” shouldn't be considered desperation.

Sometimes, it's simply self-awareness.

And if clarity makes the connection disappear, perhaps what disappeared wasn't something you were meant to hold onto anyway.

So before you spend another six months decoding someone's behaviour, ask yourself:

“Is this actually what I want, or am I accepting what I'm being offered because I'm afraid of losing them?”

Hmm.

Now that's the conversation.

This is Prestige Talk.

Conversations our generation needs to have.

Prestige talk's is all about things that we face on a daily, relatable so we'd like you to support the journey financially
At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
Top Engagers
For the Top Engagers Track, we award the top 3 people who engage the most with other user's content via
comments.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Engagers" tab on the rankings page.
Most Engaged Content
The Most Engaged Content recognizes users whose content received the most engagement during the month.
We pick the top 3.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Contributors" tab on the rankings page.
Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
This page also shows the top engagers on an all-time & monthly basis.
