Stop Waiting to Feel Confident Before You Show Up.

There are things we want to do, but we keep postponing them because we don't feel confident enough.

We want to apply for opportunities, but we think someone else is more qualified.

We want to start creating, but we worry that people will judge us.

I think many of us are waiting for confidence to arrive before we begin.

But what if confidence is not something you need before you start?

What if confidence is something you develop because you start?

Think about the first time you tried something unfamiliar, You probably weren't perfect. You may have felt nervous, awkward, or unsure of yourself. But after doing it a few more times, it became easier.

That is how confidence often grows.

Not from thinking about something endlessly, but from doing it.

Sometimes we wait for the perfect moment when we feel completely prepared, knowledgeable, and fearless.

That moment may never come.

There will probably always be another reason to wait.

But sometimes, you simply need to take the first step.

Apply, Ask, Create, Speak, Learn, Try again.

You don't have to walk into every opportunity feeling like the most confident person in the room.

You can still be learning and contribute something valuable.

Confidence doesn't always look like being fearless. Sometimes, confidence looks like being afraid and deciding not to let that fear make the decision for you.

It looks like raising your hand even when your heart is beating fast.

It looks like submitting the application even when you are wondering whether you qualify.

It looks like posting your work even when you are worried nobody will care.

And sometimes, you will try and it won't work.

That's part of it too.

An unsuccessful attempt does not mean you were foolish for trying. It can give you information you couldn't have gained by staying on the sidelines.

And slowly, something changes.

The thing that once intimidated you becomes something you know how to handle.

That is growth.

So, if you've been waiting until you feel confident enough, give yourself permission to start before you feel ready.

Don't pretend to know everything.

Don't compare your first attempt to someone else's tenth.

Just begin where you are.

Your confidence can catch up along the way.

You don't need to become fearless.

You just need to become willing.

Willing to learn,

Willing to try,

Willing to make mistakes,

Willing to try again.

Because sometimes, the person you want to become is waiting on the other side of the thing you are currently afraid to start.

So take the step.

You don't need permission to begin; you only need courage to step forward.

Even if it is small.

Start anyway.

One day, you may look back and realize that the confidence you were waiting for was built by every small decision you made to show up.

What is one thing you have been afraid to start?
