THE ONE I NEVER MEET
<p>The night asked me,</p><p>“what are you still waiting for?”</p><p>and i paused...</p><p>not because i didn’t know…</p><p>but because i did.</p><p>“for something that feels right,”</p><p>i said.</p><p>something certain.</p><p>something that stays.</p><p>something that doesn’t</p><p>feel like it might disappear</p><p>the moment i relax.</p><p>the night laughed softly.</p><p>“and have you found it?”</p><p>…</p><p>i think i have...</p><p>in moments.</p><p>in brief seconds</p><p>that felt too real</p><p>to last.</p><p>in versions of life</p><p>that almost happened.</p><p>in feelings</p><p>that came close enough</p><p>to touch..</p><p>but never close enough</p><p>to keep.</p><p>so i guess…</p><p>i’m waiting for a version of peace</p><p>that doesn’t leave afterward.</p><p>waiting for a feeling</p><p>that doesn’t come with doubt attached.</p><p>waiting for something</p><p>that doesn’t turn into a memory</p><p>before i even understand it.</p><p>and the night asked me again..</p><p>“so who are you really waiting for?”</p><p>and this time…</p><p>i answered honestly.</p><p>“for a life</p><p>that feels like mine..</p><p>and actually stays.”</p><p><br/></p>
