The Three Musketeers - The Battle IV
<p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Idris declares the Apex Boys have now been reborn as the Apex mafia</p><p><br/></p><p>He looks at Jackson.</p><p><br/></p><p>IDRIS: Jackson! I’m leaving things here to you.</p><p><br/></p><p>JACKSON: No wahala. Mike Tyson, make we show these boys shege.</p><p><br/></p><p>MIKE TYSON: Oya na.</p><p><br/></p><p>GABRIEL: Abdul! Chidi! Bolaji! I brought you guys here for a reason. Three of you are known to be excellent brawlers who hardly ever lose a fight.</p><p><br/></p><p>He cracks his knuckles.</p><p><br/></p><p>GABRIEL: Well then, show me what you’ve got. Emerge victorious in this little scuffle and I shall reward you handsomely.</p><p><br/></p><p>GABRIEL: Black One!</p><p><br/></p><p>BLACK ONE: Boss!</p><p><br/></p><p>GABRIEL: Let’s show these boys why they shouldn’t mess with the Eagle Wings.</p><p><br/></p><p>Gabriel takes off his coat, revealing a tight black sleeveless undershirt that shows off his muscular body.</p><p><br/></p><p>ABDUL: Shey you hear wetin boss Gabriel talk?</p><p><br/></p><p>BOLAJI: If we win, we get rewarded.</p><p><br/></p><p>CHIDI: Then let’s go na. Soldier boys, wetin una dey wait for? Abi una dey fear? Come now, make we fight!</p><p><br/></p><p>There is dead silence for a moment as the boys prepare for battle.</p><p><br/></p><p>The boys from the opposing factions line up face-to-face.</p><p><br/></p><p>Suddenly—</p><p><br/></p><p>CHAOS.</p><p><br/></p><p>The boys begin exchanging fists.</p><p><br/></p><p>Gabriel takes on five boys at once and makes quick work of them.</p><p><br/></p><p>A sniper fires at Gabriel.</p><p><br/></p><p>Gabriel senses the incoming projectile and catches it barehanded with impressive reaction speed.</p><p><br/></p><p>He hurls the stone back in the direction it came from with frightening accuracy, knocking the sniper out.</p><p><br/></p><p>Meanwhile, Bolaji, Abdul and Chidi face off against three of the military boys.</p><p><br/></p><p>They are almost evenly matched.</p><p><br/></p><p>After a difficult struggle, the three boys defeat their opponents and proceed to take out the remaining snipers.</p><p><br/></p><p>The Eagle Wings seem to have the upper hand.</p><p><br/></p><p>But Idris, who has been spectating from a distance, remains calm, as though he still has an ace up his sleeve.</p><p><br/></p><p>He looks at his watch.</p><p><br/></p><p>He smiles.</p><p><br/></p><p>IDRIS: They should be here right about now.</p><p><br/></p><p>The warehouse doors suddenly open.</p><p><br/></p><p>More men clad in military attire burst in.</p><p><br/></p><p>Unlike the other military boys, these men are fully geared and armed with military-grade weapons—paintball guns used during training.</p><p><br/></p><p>Leading the boys is a boy named Fatso, who is holding a large piece of chicken.</p><p><br/></p><p>FATSO: Ha fa, boss.</p><p><br/></p><p>He takes a bite of chicken.</p><p><br/></p><p>IDRIS: Right on time.</p><p><br/></p><p>FATSO: How you see the entrance?</p><p><br/></p><p>IDRIS: Perfect.</p><p><br/></p><p>FATSO: You gerrit, comrade.</p><p><br/></p><p>He turns toward his men.</p><p><br/></p><p>FATSO: Oya boys, make we show these Eagle Wings boys shege!</p><p><br/></p><p>The military boys open fire on the Eagle Wings.</p><p><br/></p><p>Gabriel and Black One manage to take out six of them each, but their numbers and weapons prove too much even for the strongest boys in town.</p><p><br/></p><p>The Eagle Wings are completely overwhelmed by the onslaught and are on the brink of defeat when suddenly—</p><p><br/></p><p>WEEEE-OOOOO!</p><p><br/></p><p>They hear sirens screaming outside.</p><p><br/></p><p>A female voice comes through a microphone.</p><p><br/></p><p>BIG MAMA: This is the NMA! Come out with your hands in the air! Any form of resistance will be met with deadly force!</p><p><br/></p><p>She hands the microphone to one of the women and takes a big bite of her chicken.</p><p><br/></p><p>She then picks up her weapons:</p><p><br/></p><p>A mortar and pestle.</p><p><br/></p><p>The mortar serves as her shield.</p><p><br/></p><p>The pestle is her weapon.</p><p><br/></p><p>IDRIS: The NMA? Impossible.</p><p><br/></p><p>GABRIEL: How did the NMA find out?</p><p><br/></p><p>CHIDI: Omo, guys, me I go japa o. If them catch me, e go reach my mama, and she go chop my papa.</p><p><br/></p><p>Chidi tries to tiptoe out through the back exit.</p><p><br/></p><p>But Big Mama notices him.</p><p><br/></p><p>She fires a warning shot with her slipper.</p><p><br/></p><p>The slipper flies through the air and lands directly in front of Chidi, sticking to the wall from the sheer force with which it was thrown.</p><p><br/></p><p>BIG MAMA: Hey! Young man! Where do you think you’re going?</p><p><br/></p><p>She walks toward him and stares at his face for a moment.</p><p><br/></p><p>BIG MAMA: Rita! No be the boy be this?</p><p><br/></p><p>RITA: He’s the one.</p><p><br/></p><p>BIG MAMA: So you be the commander’s pikin and you come dey looseguard like this? You dey ment? Wetin dey do you sef?</p><p><br/></p><p>GABRIEL: What? You’re the commander’s son?</p><p><br/></p><p>IDRIS: So that’s how the NMA found out. Gabriel, how could you be so careless?</p><p><br/></p><p>CHIDI: No, it’s not like that… I didn’t know.</p><p><br/></p><p>Fatso tries to use the commotion to escape.</p><p><br/></p><p>But once again, Big Mama notices him.</p><p><br/></p><p>She stops him the same way she stopped Chidi.</p><p><br/></p><p>BIG MAMA: David!</p><p><br/></p><p>Fatso freezes.</p><p><br/></p><p>FATSO: Mummy.</p><p><br/></p><p>BIG MAMA: I will deal with you today.</p><p><br/></p><p>It turns out that Fatso, whose real name is David, is Big Mama’s son.</p><p><br/></p><p>Big Mama unleashes her slippers on Fatso, while the others try to use the distraction to escape.</p><p><br/></p><p>The women take aim and fire their slippers at the fleeing boys.</p><p><br/></p><p>One by one, the boys are captured and handed over to their mothers, who deal with them appropriately.</p><p><br/></p><p>Na Chidi collect pass.</p><p><br/></p><p>Of course, Ngozi, Shade and Khalid watch and laugh as their brothers are punished.</p><p><br/></p><p>The battle is over.</p><p><br/></p><p>The Apex Mafia has fallen.</p><p><br/></p><p>The Eagle Wings have been defeated.</p><p><br/></p><p>And the NMA has once again restored order.</p><p><br/></p><p>At least until the next school break.</p><p><br/></p><p>MORALS OF THE STORY</p><p><br/></p><p>- Always check to make sure your sister isn’t eavesdropping on your conversations.</p><p>- You no smart pass your mama.</p><p>- The pen is mightier than the sword.</p><p>- The compass is mightier than the pen.</p><p>- But the slippers are mightier than them all.</p>
