The Truths We Outgrow
<p>Maybe the problem isn’t that we were lied to. Maybe we simply outgrew some of the answers we were given.</p><p><br/></p><p>As children, we’re often given simple answers to complicated questions.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Go to school and you’ll succeed.”</p><p><br/></p><p>“Get good grades and you’ll get a good job.”</p><p><br/></p><p>“Work hard and everything will fall into place.”</p><p><br/></p><p>At that age, those answers make sense. We need something simple to hold on to.</p><p><br/></p><p>But then we grow up.</p><p><br/></p><p>We meet people who are highly educated but still struggling. We meet people without impressive certificates who have built meaningful careers. We realize that hard work matters, but so do opportunity, timing, relationships, skills, circumstances, and sometimes plain luck.</p><p><br/></p><p>And suddenly, the things we thought were straightforward become much more complicated.</p><p><br/></p><p>Education still matters. Hard work still matters. A degree can still open doors.</p><p><br/></p><p>But perhaps none of them, on their own, is the complete formula for success.</p><p><br/></p><p>Maybe the real lesson is that we should never stop questioning, learning, and updating our understanding of the world.</p><p><br/></p><p>So I want to ask you:</p><p><br/></p><p>What is something you believed about life when you were younger because everyone around you presented it as a fact, but experience eventually made you question it?</p><p><br/></p><p>Not necessarily something that turned out to be completely false—just something you now understand differently.</p><p><br/></p><p>Because sometimes, the truth you think you know is simply the version of the truth someone handed to you.</p><p><br/></p><p>What’s yours? 👇🏽</p>
