TwoCents my love: 50th Insight That Wasn't.

This was supposed to be my 50th insight.Well... things happen.😅This is prolly the first insight I'm writing on TwoCents about TwoCents Hehehe 😹 Hmm, I don't even know how to start this. I discovered TwoCents in the most random way possible.From a group I didn't even want to be part off but just joined out of sheer curiosity I'm naturally curious and always clicking things I probably shouldn't be clicking, so when I came across the link, I clicked and registered almost immediately. What caught my attention was simple:It is a writing platform.That was enough to get me interested. I took my time to read the entire write-up the lady in the group posted, explaining TwoCents in detail. There were videos too, and I watched those as well. And that was it. That was how my journey into this little world started.It was May 2025. Can't remember the exact date though I bless that day, honestly. The funny thing is that there were very few of us who clicked that link back then. Even some of the people who joined around that time, I don't see them here anymore. I hope they're doing well though. Today makes it 1 year, 3 months and 19 days since I started posting on TwoCents, as at the time I'm writing this.That's exactly 476 days So yeah, I've been around for a while. Long enough to watch TwoCents evolve.The interface, the new features, the sleekness of the app and website and so on The earning features were very different back then too. I wrote during that period, but I wasn't really invested because school was doing what school does best: stressing me out.😩 My head was always hot.It was difficult to be cool-headed enough to write, and I needed to be cool-headed to write anything. So I was here...But I wasn't really here. Around that period, I introduced some of my friends to TwoCents. Only one of them really took it seriously, though, and she's still doing very well here till today.She knows herself and she'll read this and laugh😹 After that, I referred quite a number of really amazing people who are still here and building. But me?I was mostly a ghost.I'd post sometimes.Read people's work.Upvote and Scroll.Maybe comment once in a blue moon.Then disappear again. I wasn't really active. Until July. When my school chose madness.🙂 And it happened to coincide with one of the most difficult periods I'd had in a while.I was going through a major mental breakdown, trying every single day to keep myself together and just...exist. I took a break from work.I didn't want to do anything.Nothing. I just wanted to eat, sleep, read and repeat. My brain is constantly running, so I use reading to give it somewhere to go instead of letting it wander everywhere.If you don't experience this, you might not understand what I mean. Somehow, around this period, I ended up speaking to both Tobi and Cyrus. And those conversations pushed me to take TwoCents more seriously. I genuinely appreciate you both for that.That little push helped more than you probably realised. Cyrus, I already know you'll read this and just upvote as usual.🌚But seriously, thank you. And that's where this rather eventful TwoCents journey really started.I went from around 20 insights to 52 in what felt like no time.From barely 20 followers to almost 200.Got to about 36,000 contribution score🥹Ranked 2nd in top contribution. (For now though🌚 hehehe😹)Moved up in top engagers.And somehow even managed to trend a trend here on TwoCents.😂 But honestly, the numbers aren't even the part I cherish the most.TwoCents made my insights feel seen.Loved.Accepted. I know I get ideas from the most random things.Very random things. But y'all never made me feel weird about it. I've always written since I knew the alphabets.The difference is that TwoCents gave me somewhere to put those thoughts where people actually wanted to read them. And the way y'all accepted me...I don't take that for granted. To everyone who has ever taken the time to read something I wrote, like it, comment under it, share it, disagree with me, laugh at it or even silently read and disappear... I see you.And I appreciate you. This space slowly became my own little corner.And while all of that was happening, my account was growing too. And yes, I used the money to spoil myself plenty times.Because why not?😭 I bought important things.I bought completely ridiculous things.Sometimes I bought things simply because I wanted them. And honestly?I enjoyed it. So to everyone new here, especially those who joined with a particular mindset about TwoCents: Don't become so focused on the earning features that you miss everything else happening here. Take your time.Actually be part of the community.Read people's work.Talk to people.Write.Interact. You might be surprised by how much you end up loving this space And if you don't even consider yourself a writer but you've always wanted to try it...Start.Write the short thing.Write the clumsy thing.Write the thing you think nobody will care about.We'll encourage you.We'll correct you.And we'll still encourage you. That's how you get better.Read other people's work.Learn.Get inspired.Experiment.Keep writing. And one day you'll look back at your old pieces and wonder how you ever thought they were good😅 Also...Please preach TwoCents to your friends, family and even your enemies.Especially your enemies.😭They need opportunities too. To the wonderful co-founders of TwoCents, Tobi Igbinedion and Cyrus Majebi:Thank you🥹 Getting an idea is one thing.Building it is another.Keeping it alive long enough for people to actually experience it is a completely different ball game. You both built something that became more than an idea on a PowerPoint presentation.You created a space where people can actually participate, create, earn, interact and grow. And I'm genuinely grateful that I got to be a part of it. To every developer, marketer, investor, contributor and everyone else who has played a role in building TwoCents, thank you very much. Your work might not always be visible to everyone using this platform, but the fact that we're here means somebody kept building. And I appreciate that. TwoCents has become home to me.I'm not obsessed.But...I'm attached. And I've said this before, and I'll say it again:Once I get my standing, I'm definitely giving back to TwoCents. Because some places don't just become part of your timeline. They become part of your story.And TwoCents has somehow become part of mine.
