<p>Yunno that empty feeling in your gut</p><p>Quietly eating you up like a termite</p><p>You wanna scream but you can't</p><p><br/></p><p>Because you feel like nobody would understand</p><p>The idea of what is going on in there</p><p><br/></p><p>Constant worries and shame</p><p>Too scared to look in the mirror</p><p>To really see yourself</p><p><br/></p><p>To see that figure you used your own hands to mold</p><p><br/></p><p>So you sit in the awkward silence</p><p>Looking at the ceiling</p><p>Questioning your sanity</p><p><br/></p><p>Asking yourself the questions</p><p>You denied yourself years ago</p><p><br/></p><p>The whys</p><p>The hows</p><p>And the how could you</p><p><br/></p><p>Then you realise</p><p>You have let those things become a part of you for years</p><p><br/></p><p>You let it consume you</p><p>You let it become comfortable</p><p><br/></p><p>Like every August visitor</p><p>You hosted it anyway</p><p><br/></p><p>You gave it a permanent seat at your table</p><p>And somehow</p><p>You let it decide for you</p><p>Every time you sat down</p><p><br/></p><p>So when you finally realise what you've done</p><p>You begin to feel shame</p><p>And confusion</p><p><br/></p><p>Because someone who has never been ashamed of their visitor</p><p>Would never understand</p><p>The weight of letting them sit with you</p><p><br/></p><p>And it took me years to realise that</p><p><br/></p><p>So I sit in the echoes of the silence</p><p>Throwing words into my notes app</p><p><br/></p><p>Realising</p><p>All the things I ignored</p><p>All the questions I buried</p><p>All the things I allowed to become home</p>
