Meet the black lagoon company.
Our ragtag modern pirate crew.
In their business ventures mainly working as delivery boys they at----

Yh that's right Rock
Exactly what Dutch will say

The company headed by Dutch
The cool-headed straight man capable of controlled violence.

With his sharp wit
He gets the job done
Keeping himself level-headed and safe doing deliveries for criminals
His experience built of his tenure as a veteran who fought in the Vietnam war.
With his interesting tastes

All descisions go through him
In other words

Then there's Benny the resident tech expert of the bunch

His prestige and danger looms around him managing to be able to piss off both the mafia and fire at the same time.
How the hell do you even do that lmao

Then there's Revy
Two Hands
The guns and muscle of the crew
The real badass with an attitude
Enjoying the carnage amidst blood and gunpowder

Last but not the least Rock
The rookie
Previously an employee of Asahi Industries
Due to some dire circumstances becomes part of the crew

Action packed
Slapping Humour
If you're a fan of Quentin Taratino films this shit is up your alley man
It's also does so well as a crime drama beneath all the fast paced action
It's always beautiful to see care taken into exploring relationships between characters, as the stories goes which I particularly enjoy about this show.
As it explores change and stagnantion in this immensely gritty world we're shown although a bit dramatized but that comes with terrority of the show
It knows how to set the tone properly following a sense of realism in its content and form
I would say it kind of mirrors the neo-noir cinema type films that birthed more crime drama as you're invited to hear Rock's thoughts through out the show, for example an understanding of historical events to the dialogue found in the show.
Please watch the dub of the show if you can get access to it
It also has one of the best anime dubs, I've come across in all the time I've watched anime.
Trust me it's worth it.
It's so good that I haven't watched it in sub until recently to finally appreciate japanese greatness and use subtitles for the article lol.
The sub version's is also good dont get me wrong
This is just a preference for me personally as the subtitles loses some meaning in its translation but due to the nature of the show it can be weirdly localised in a western perspective.
You have a better subtitle file please share though.
Honestly I'm the kind that likes both.
Just speaking to what elevates the medium for me.
Since the show is largely inspired by American movies majorly in the 90s.
Primetime for Quentin Taratino right?
So think about it Rei Hiroe the mangaka of Black Lagoon getting inspired such media creates a Japanese piece of art, which in retrospect makes the the localisation and translation sync better in the dub
Obviously disclaimer there's going to be a lot of dark shit going on in this show
It doesn't hold your hand at all lmao.

Holy smokes I watched this when I was 13?
No wonder I'm so emo
