Before your name, before the sun, before anyone was watching. It’s the original quiet. It’s where you were made - in the dark of a womb, in the dark of soil where seeds crack open.</p><p><br/></p><p>Darkness is not evil. Darkness is honest. It hides nothing because it is nothing to hide behind. In the dark, you can’t pretend. You are alone with what you really are.</p><p><br/></p><p>Light is the intruder. Beautiful, but loud. Light arrives and says “look here, look here.” It gives things edges and names. It lets you see your friend’s face. It also lets you lie, because now you can be seen performing.</p><p><br/></p><p>We think we want more light. But stare at the sun and you go blind. Live in endless light and you never sleep, never rest, never dream. Light without darkness is an interrogation room.</p><p><br/></p><p>People are the same. The ones who are only light - always positive, always smiling - you don’t trust them. You feel tired around them.</p><p><br/></p><p>The ones who know their own darkness are the ones you can sit with at 2am. They have been in the basement of themselves and came back with something real. Their light is not a filter. It’s a fire they had to build in the dark.</p><p><br/></p><p>You don’t get rid of darkness by adding more light.</p><p><br/></p><p>You learn to carry both. Like the sky at 6pm. Not day, not night. That bruised purple that makes everything look holy.</p><p><br/></p><p>That’s where truth lives.</p>
