ALONE ROAD
<p>Episode 4: THE ROAD</p><p>Amara drove to the old road where her parents' accident had supposedly happened nineteen years ago.</p><p>She didn't know what she expected to find.</p><p>Maybe answers.</p><p>Maybe closure.</p><p>But deep down, she was beginning to wonder if the story she'd grown up hearing was even true.</p><p>She parked beneath an old road sign and stepped out.</p><p>According to the message her mother had left, she was supposed to look beneath it.</p><p>She searched the ground and eventually found a small silver box buried beneath the soil.</p><p>Her heart raced as she picked it up.</p><p>There was a number engraved on the lid:</p><p>17.</p><p>The same number from the storage unit.</p><p>Amara took the box to Detective Hassan who was on the case to find Daniel.</p><p>After examining it, they discovered a hidden compartment containing a small key and a handwritten note.</p><p>«“The account is not the inheritance. It is the warning.”»</p><p>Amara stared at the words.</p><p>“What does that mean?”</p><p>Hassan shook his head.</p><p>“I don't know yet.”</p><p>There was another sentence beneath it.</p><p>«“Ask Daniel why he remembers what you don't.”»</p><p>Amara became quiet.</p><p>Daniel had always been the person she trusted most.</p><p>Now, every new discovery seemed to connect him to a part of her past she couldn't remember.</p><p>That evening, she went through the old photographs she'd kept since childhood.</p><p>One picture caught her attention.</p><p>It showed her at eight years old, standing beside Daniel.</p><p>She frowned.</p><p>She had no memory of ever meeting him as a child.</p><p>Then she noticed something written on the back.</p><p>September 14, 2007.</p><p>The exact date of the accident.</p><p>Amara stared at the photograph for a long time.</p><p>Suddenly, a faint memory returned.</p><p>Smoke.</p><p>Fire.</p><p>Her mother's voice.</p><p>And Daniel standing nearby.</p><p>She closed her eyes.</p><p>For the first time, she realized something terrifying wasn't necessarily chasing her.</p><p>Something from her past was simply waiting for her to remember.</p><p>Her phone buzzed.</p><p>A message from Daniel's number.</p><p>«“Amara, there are things about that night you were never told.”»</p><p>She stared at the screen.</p><p>Then another message appeared:</p><p>«“And I'm sorry.”»</p><p>Amara's heart sank.</p><p>If Daniel was truly trying to protect her, what exactly had he done that he needed to apologize for?</p><p>TO BE CONTINUED…</p>
