The Woman I'm Becoming Is Different From the Girl I Used to Be.

By TheAnnyX

Growing up is not just about getting older. Sometimes, it is about looking at yourself and realising that the things you once accepted, the people you once chased and the dreams you once had no longer define who you are becoming.

The girl I used to be may have wanted everyone to like her, feared disappointing people or believed that being loved meant always making sacrifices. But the woman I'm becoming is learning that you can be a good person without pleasing everyone, love people without losing yourself and have a kind heart without allowing others to take advantage of you.

I'm learning that growth sometimes means outgrowing old habits, changing your mindset, setting boundaries and accepting that not everyone will understand the person you are becoming.

And honestly, change isn't always comfortable. Sometimes, you miss the old version of yourself because she was familiar. Sometimes, you question your decisions because the people around you aren't used to your new boundaries. But becoming better doesn't mean remaining the same just to make others comfortable.

You are allowed to change. You are allowed to learn. You are allowed to become someone your younger self never imagined.

This doesn't mean the girl you used to be was foolish or weak. She was learning with the knowledge and experience she had at the time. Instead of being ashamed of her, appreciate her for getting you this far.

Remember, personal growth isn't about becoming a perfect woman. It's about becoming more aware of yourself, taking responsibility for your choices, learning from your mistakes and making decisions that align with the life you want to build.

So, don't be too hard on yourself if you're still figuring things out. You can appreciate how far you've come while working towards where you want to be.

The goal isn't to become a woman who never makes mistakes. It's to become a woman who learns from them without losing herself.

We are not just becoming older. We are becoming ourselves.

LET'S TALK: What's one thing you've outgrown that the younger version of you once thought you could never let go of ?

I would love to hear your thoughts. ❤️

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
