DANCE INTO MY HEART
<p>Episode 3: The Knock </p><p><br/></p><p>Veena arrived at Kasia's apartment long after the club had emptied.</p><p><br/></p><p>Her eyes were swollen, her confidence shattered. She had replayed the humiliation over and over in her head, but she still couldn't bring herself to tell Kasia what had really happened.</p><p><br/></p><p>"What happened between you and Cas?" Kasia asked gently.</p><p><br/></p><p>Veena looked away.</p><p><br/></p><p>"We just had a little misunderstanding. That's all."</p><p><br/></p><p>Kasia stared at her.</p><p><br/></p><p>She knew Veena too well.</p><p><br/></p><p>"That doesn't look like a little misunderstanding."</p><p><br/></p><p>Veena forced a smile. "I'm just tired, Kasia. Please."</p><p><br/></p><p>Kasia sighed and nodded.</p><p><br/></p><p>"You can sleep in my room with me."</p><p><br/></p><p>"No," Veena quickly replied. "I just want to be alone tonight."</p><p><br/></p><p>Kasia hesitated before pointing toward the hallway.</p><p><br/></p><p>"Then take the guest room."</p><p><br/></p><p>Veena nodded gratefully.</p><p><br/></p><p>"Thank you."</p><p><br/></p><p>While Kasia went to prepare the room, Veena stood silently in the living room, fighting back tears.</p><p><br/></p><p>Across town, Leeno had just received a warning strike from his manager.</p><p><br/></p><p>The chaos at the bar had been blamed partly on his involvement with Veena and Cas.</p><p><br/></p><p>As he cleared his things after his shift, he noticed a phone lying beneath the bar counter.</p><p><br/></p><p>He picked it up and slipped it into his bag, intending to return it to its owner.</p><p><br/></p><p>But his thoughts were somewhere else.</p><p><br/></p><p>I should have listened to her.</p><p><br/></p><p>Veena had warned him to stay out of her situation with Cas.</p><p><br/></p><p>He hadn't.</p><p><br/></p><p>Now he couldn't stop wondering whether she was safe.</p><p><br/></p><p>After his duty, Leeno made a decision.</p><p><br/></p><p>He would find her.</p><p><br/></p><p>"I really do hope she's okay," he whispered.</p><p><br/></p><p>That night, Veena cried until exhaustion finally pulled her into a restless sleep.</p><p><br/></p><p>Morning came quietly.</p><p><br/></p><p>A knock sounded at the door.</p><p><br/></p><p>Kasia got up and walked toward it.</p><p><br/></p><p>"I'll get it," she called.</p><p><br/></p><p>Meanwhile, Veena stirred in the guest room, searching through her belongings for her other phone.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then suddenly...</p><p><br/></p><p>BANG!</p><p><br/></p><p>The sound of the front door slamming violently shook the apartment.</p><p><br/></p><p>Veena froze.</p><p><br/></p><p>Her heart began pounding.</p><p><br/></p><p>"Kasia?"</p><p><br/></p><p>No answer.</p><p><br/></p><p>She rushed out of the room and ran toward the staircase.</p><p><br/></p><p>"What happened?"</p><p><br/></p><p>But when Veena reached the living room, she stopped dead when she saw Kasia looking at her with so much anger but no one was inside the house. </p><p><br/></p><p>What happened between you and Cas for the last time?</p><p><br/></p><p>To be Continued....</p>
