Giving up vs Enduring 🙃

Giving up doesn't mean you're weak. Enduring doesn't mean you're strong.

Let me explain 🥲

We've been taught to admire people who "never give up."

"Keep trying.

Keep pushing.

Keep enduring.

Don't quit."

Some will say "winners never quit and quitters never win". Kiniko kiniko

And while perseverance is admirable, nobody talks enough about how sometimes staying is the thing that's destroying you.

You can keep forcing a relationship that has already run its course.

Keep pursuing something that no longer aligns with who you're becoming.

Keep tolerating situations that constantly drain you.

And call it strength because you haven't walked away.

But sometimes walking away isn't surrender.

Sometimes it's awareness.

Sometimes you're not giving up because you're weak. You're giving up because you've finally accepted that effort cannot fix everything.

(I don't even want to talk about toxic friendships people hold on to because "we've been friends for ages" or "we are family friends")

And on the other hand, enduring pain indefinitely doesn't automatically make you strong.

Strength isn't measured by how much suffering you can tolerate(it doesn't pay)

Sometimes strength looks like staying.

Sometimes it looks like leaving.

Sometimes it looks like trying again.

And sometimes it looks like saying:

"I've tried enough. I choose myself now."

Know the difference between perseverance and self-abandonment and know peace
