<p>Y’all really want to spend your whole life chasing a wedding just to turn around and stop dating the person you married?</p><p>Because I’m confused.</p><p>You don’t wanna smoke a joint with your head resting between her thighs while she plays with your hair and scrolls through Pinterest or TikTok?</p><p>You don’t wanna take aimless drives with her arms wrapped around your waist? Or sit in the car for hours, her feet resting on your thighs, talking about everything and absolutely nothing?</p><p>You don’t wanna randomly buy your woman flowers. Get her a dress just because you know she’ll look good in it. Book a weekend away because you both woke up and decided you needed an adventure?</p><p>You don’t wanna dress up, eat good food, share a bottle of Chardonnay, flirt with your own wife across the table, and remember that y’all are still lovers, not just parents?</p><p>You don’t wanna go to the club together and dance like nobody’s watching?</p><p>You don’t wanna wake up Sunday morning wondering how y’all even made it home, laugh about the night before, then somehow pull yourselves together and make it to church?</p><p>You don’t wanna have brunch afterward, sitting across from your person having deep conversations without immediately worrying about what the kids are eating for lunch?</p><p>Y’all don’t have bucket lists?</p><p>Places you wanna see.</p><p>Things you wanna experience.</p><p>Random adventures.</p><p>Stories you wanna tell when you’re old.</p><p>Because yes, yes, yes I want to birth my man’s children.</p><p><br/></p><p>I want the family.</p><p>I want the home.</p><p>I want the beautiful chaos.</p><p>But I refuse to believe motherhood is supposed to be the most interesting thing that ever happens to <a class="tc-blue external-link" href="https://me.And" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">me and </a> I refuse to believe marriage means the dating stops.</p><p><br/></p><p>Like, yes, we finally get married.</p><p>Then what?</p><p>Do we stop pursuing each other?</p><p>Stop dressing up for each other?</p><p>Stop going on dates?</p><p>Stop taking trips?</p><p>Stop flirting?</p><p>Stop being curious about each other?</p><p><br/></p><p>Do we become roommates who happen to share children?</p><p>Because I don’t just want to be somebody’s wife.</p><p>I want to be his person.</p><p><br/></p><p>I want the late night convos, spontaneous trips, inside jokes, random flowers, road trips, dancing in the kitchen, brunch dates, adventures, intimacy, and all the ridiculous little moments that make a life feel like ours.</p><p>I want children to be part of our story not the entire story.</p><p>I want the family, but I also want the love story that exists underneath it.</p><p><br/></p><p>So yes, I want to get married.</p><p>Yes, I want children.</p><p>But I want us too.</p><p>And maybe the wedding isn’t the happily ever after.</p><p>Maybe it’s where the fun finally starts.</p>
