I Stopped Being Me

It’s been long.

Yes, too long.

I picked up my pen again to visit the world of writing, but somehow, I had kept my book far away from my hands.

It felt like enternity.

something inside me was numb, yet every attempt to write awakened a pain I couldn’t explain.

Everything I needed to write about seemed to scare me.

Days went slowly, but time flew quickly. And somewhere between the two, I found myself stuck—between being a writer and hiding in isolation.

Writing was me.

It was my life.

My addiction.

But slowly, my life as a writer began dropping away, one piece at a time.

What happened?

Why did I stop?

The flow was gone.

The hunger was gone.

The thing I once loved doing the most had suddenly become so difficult that frustration began replacing passion.

My feelings came back into the game.

I was lost.

Tired.

Confused.

But guess what?

I never stopped dreaming about writing.

Even when I couldn't write, I kept wondering what had happened to me.

Then, somehow, the answer came like a quiet voice:

You stopped being you.

You stopped seeing writing as a gift.

You stopped seeing the beauty in it.

You started seeing it as a burden—something you had to do instead of something you were blessed to do.

And because of that, even your pen began to feel too heavy to carry.

I went back to that place of isolation.

That old place where nothing seemed to work for me.

And then I realized something deeper.

Yes, I cheated.

I cheated on my best friend—the Holy Spirit.

He had stopped being my safe place.

I started looking for another room to hide in, forgetting that the safest place had always been with Him.

I didn't realize how much that distance would hurt.

Because He was still the Teacher who taught me every day—not only how to write, but how to see.

And when I stopped listening to Him, something in me stopped flowing too.

Writing didn't leave me.

I was the one who walked away from it.

And deep down, I missed Him.

I missed the peace.

I missed the flow.

I missed the version of myself that could sit with a pen and turn feelings into words.

I couldn't figure everything out.

But maybe I didn't need to figure everything out at once.

Maybe I just needed to return.

So, if you're reading this and you're discouraged, let me remind you:

You will have days when the passion disappears.

You will have moments when what once came naturally feels difficult.

You will question yourself.

You will feel tired.

You may even want to walk away.

But please, don't quit.

There is still something inside you that the world needs.

There are people waiting for what you carry.

There are lives your story may touch.

And sometimes, before the manifestation comes, there is a season where you have to find yourself again.

And now...

I think I'm finding mine.

The hunger is coming back.

The words are coming back.

The pen doesn't feel as heavy anymore.

And maybe this was never the end of my writing journey.

Maybe I just needed to remember who I was.

I am a writer.

And this time, I don't want to write without Him.

Because when the Holy Spirit became my teacher, writing became more than words.

It became a gift.

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
