LAGOS LIFE: JUST A SIMULATION OR ANOTHER MASSIVE DISTRACTION SCHEME?
<p>We have spent months complaining about insecurity, bad products, food safety, corruption, economic pressure, the future of the country, and what kind of Nigeria we're handing to the next generation.</p><p>Then suddenly, here comes a simulation of Lagos life, and an enormous chunk of everybody's attention goes straight into their phones.</p><p><br/></p><p>No seriously</p><p>Think about it</p><p><br/></p><p>The Nigerian youth have already been called lazy and unfit and this game has proven just that.</p><p><br/></p><p>Total wrong timing</p><p><br/></p><p>Just months or weeks ago the same Nigerian youth were complaining about insecurity, fake products and foods everywhere and today?</p><p>Today they're distracted with their phones</p><p>Everybody posting updates on their Snapchats and WhatsApp statuses about Lagos life </p><p><br/></p><p>Look I'm not saying it's bad</p><p>But again, wrong timing.</p><p>Now's not the time to be caught in a simulation</p><p>Now's the time to stand up for the future of our nation</p><p>We're already so cooked</p><p><br/></p><p>The same people who say "Nigeria is killing us" open their Snapchat only three minutes after their lamentations just to show us their mansion in Lagos life.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sure we can bury our excuses behind the money that comes from it</p><p>You have access to other people's money and you're happy?</p><p>That's it??</p><p>I really don't get it.</p><p><br/></p><p>I see us like cats chasing laser dots</p><p>One minute we're demanding justice.</p><p>Begging so passionately for the release of those in captivity</p><p>Next minute we're decorating our Lagos Life houses.</p><p>Laser dot.</p><p>Laser dot.</p><p>Laser dot.</p><p><br/></p><p>What will we leave behind for the coming generation?</p><p>They're literally becoming worse than us already</p><p>And now this?</p><p>Their big brothers and sisters and aunties and uncles and dads and moms are carried away dillydallying on their glowing rectangles.</p><p><br/></p><p>We say "if it weren't for these things we'd die of depression in this country"</p><p>Seriously?!</p><p>Seriously??!!</p><p><br/></p><p>Maybe those potbellied old men in the red velvet chairs of political rooms are not entirely wrong about us</p><p>Maybe we're really unready</p><p>Unfit!</p><p><br/></p><p>We complain so much about the nation yet there's nobody stepping up</p><p><br/></p><p>It's like constantly complaining about a headache without reaching for the solution</p><p><br/></p><p>What is wrong with us?</p><p>What is really wrong with us??</p><p><br/></p><p>I only have one important question on my mind </p><p><br/></p><p>Why now?!</p><p><br/></p><p>And tell me....</p><p><br/></p><p>Is Lagos life really just a harmless simulation, or is it just another massive distraction scheme?!</p>

For the Top Engagers Track, we award the top 3 people who engage the most with other user's content via
comments.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Engagers" tab on the rankings page.
Most Engaged Content
The Most Engaged Content recognizes users whose content received the most engagement during the month.
We pick the top 3.

Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
