My Fav Orange

I've always thought some colours were more than just colours

Some carry feelings, some remind you of places, and some, somehow, remind you of people.

Orange is one of those colours.

There's something about orange.

It is warm without trying too hard.

It has a way of making its presence known without demanding attention.

It reminds me of sunsets, those beautiful moments when the sky slowly changes colour and you find yourself staring a little longer than you intended.

Orange feels like warmth. Like encouragement.

Like the kind of light that finds its way into a room you didn't even realise was dark.

It is bold, but there's a softness to it.

It carries energy, yet it feels comforting.

It reminds me that brightness doesn't always have to be loud to be noticed.

And if I had to describe someone using this colour, I'd say orange is the perfect choice.

Because some people come into your life and become unexpected blessings.

People who see something in you before you fully see it yourself.

People who trust you, give you opportunities, push you to do better and remind you that you are capable of more.

Sometimes, you don't even have to meet someone physically to feel the impact they've had on your life.

Some people simply have a way of making you feel seen. They encourage you, celebrate you, correct you when necessary and make you want to become a better version of yourself.

And that's what makes certain people unforgettable.

Now, here's the funny part. All this while, I've been talking about orange, but orange isn't actually the person I'm celebrating.

Orange is her favourite colour.

And perhaps that's why I find myself associating so many beautiful things with it.

She's someone I have come to regard as an elder sister. Someone I admire, someone I look up to, and someone whose kindness has given me opportunities I will never take for granted.

We haven't even met physically, yet she has found ways to make such a meaningful difference in my life.

If you're reading this, I hope you know how much you mean to me.

I hope life gives you back the kindness you've so freely given to others.

Happy birthday to my very own orange girl 🧡

May God bless your new age, grant your heart its deepest desires and make the coming years even more beautiful than the ones behind you.

You are loved, appreciated and celebrated always 🧡
