A Big Dee Survival Guide for the Newbies So, you joined TwoCents.You created your account.You probably looked around for five minutes.You saw people writing, commenting, talking about scores, competitions, points, money... and now you're sitting there like:“Oga o..., what exactly am I supposed to be doing here?” 😩Relax...Big Dee has come to hold your hand.For a while now, I've been thinking about how to help people who might have no idea how to properly navigate TwoCents, especially the new people who joined and are currently looking at the platform like it's an exam question they didn't prepare for.🤔 So, I decided to put together a little guide."You're welcome" 🤭NB: This is not the complete TwoCents manual. Far from it. If you're a veteran and you notice that I've missed something important, please drop it in the comments. You can search for it using the search box up there. You'll find them. And anytime you see someone with these names following you... Just know that it is hot money.Eyes on your neck.Eyes on your wrist.Eyes on your insights. And now...eyes on your AI-generated content and comments too. 😂😂 Yes o.In this era of AI, you can use artificial intelligence to help you brainstorm, structure, edit, research and improve your writing but please, don't hand your entire brain over to ChatGPT and then come and paste whatever it gives you without reading it first. 😭😂There is a difference between using AI as a tool and letting AI become your entire personality.. if you know, you know..Your experiences, opinions, observations, humour and voice are still yours.Let AI assist you where necessary, but make sure you are still present in what you publish, because if every Insight sounds like it was manufactured in the same AI factory, people will notice.So yes...Eyes on your AI-generated content.Eyes on your AI-generated comments.Eyes everywhere. 😂🙄Okay, enough of that. At its core, TwoCents is a space where Africans around the globe can share ideas, experiences, knowledge, stories, opinions and perspectives.Think of it as a digital home where your voice isn't just floating around for decoration.It can actually carry value.You can write.You can share your thoughts.You can tell stories.You can upload audio.You can interact with other people.You can promote what you do.And yes, there are opportunities to earn.So, how do you actually make the most of it? 1. COMPLETE YOUR PROFILE. PLEASE... Before you start asking where your money is hiding, make sure your profile isn't looking like someone abandoned a construction site halfway through.Update your:• Profile photo• Bio• Occupation• City• Other relevant profile informationA complete and authentic profile helps you unlock platform features and meet earning eligibility requirements. Basically, introduce yourself properly before asking the platform to introduce you to money. 2. START POSTING INSIGHTS This one is important.On TwoCents, your posts are called Insights and this is where you actually get to be yourself.You can write essays.Stories.Personal experiences.Opinions.Lessons.Reviews.Random thoughts that somehow turn into 1,500 words at 2 a.m. There are different spaces covering things like Technology, Lifestyle, Literature, Relationships and more.Find the spaces that fit your interests and start contributing.And please...Don't wait until you think you are Shakespeare's long-lost child before you post.Your voice matters too.If writing isn't really your thing, that's fine.You can also explore audio.Record directly or upload your voice note, make it clear and engaging, and let people hear you. 3. DON'T POST AND DISAPPEAR.Ah, this one. TAKE YOUR INSIGHTS OUTSIDE TWOCENTS.You wrote something brilliant.Why should it stay locked inside the platform?Share your Insight links on your other social platforms.WhatsApp.X/Twitter.Instagram.LinkedIn. Wherever your audience lives.TwoCents also has its own social media presence where community updates, highlights and selected content are shared.So keep an eye on those spaces too.You never know when your work might get noticed. 5. REMEMBER THAT TWOCENTS IS ALSO A MARKETPLACE.This part is especially interesting for business owners and creators.You don't have to come to TwoCents only to write.You can also market what you do.Got a business?Sell it.Have a digital product?Talk about it.Offer a service?Let people know.Have something useful that people can pay for?Put it in front of them.You can showcase your business, products or services alongside your Insights.So your content doesn't have to exist separately from your business.You can create, connect and sell.All within the same ecosystem. 6. WATCH YOUR SCORES. 👀Now we're getting somewhere.As you contribute to the community through things like publishing Insights, commenting and sharing content, you can build your Contributor Score and Engagement Score and no, this isn't the time to become a professional ghost.Your activity matters.The more you genuinely participate, the more you position yourself to benefit from the platform's reward systems.Consistently active engagers can be enrolled in the Points-to-Coupons programme, where community points can be converted into rewards such as airtime, cash or withdrawals.So that comment you almost ignored...Maybe go and type it. 😂 7.
