We talk about finding ourselves like we lost our keys. "I need to find myself." As if there is a quiet, finished person under the noise, waiting in some back room.

I don't think it works that way.

A self isn't an object. It's a pattern. Like a whirlpool in a river.

If you go to the river and point at a whirlpool and ask, what is that made of? The answer is nothing that stays. It's just water passing through. But it's passing through in a particular way. It holds its shape not because it is solid, but because the flow keeps repeating the shape.

The river doesn't make the whirlpool and then leave it there. The river is the whirlpooling. If the flow stops, the whirlpool doesn't go hide somewhere. It just ceases.

We're a lot like that. Not stones in the water. We are the motion of the water, right here, where we are standing.

This is why looking inward can feel so unnerving. You sit quietly and look for the solid thing and you don't find it. You find a memory arriving, then a worry, then a plan for tomorrow, then an itch on your knee. You think, I must be empty. Or broken.

You aren't. That's just what a living pattern looks like from the inside. Flow.

And this matters because if you think you are a stone, you will spend your life trying to protect yourself from being chipped or worn down. You will brace against the river. You will get tired.

If you know you are the pattern, the question gets gentler.

It is no longer, who am I really, underneath all of this?

It becomes, what shape am I giving to the flow that is passing through me today? What am I doing with this bit of light, this bit of time, that I have only on loan?

You don't dig to find that shape. You choose it.

You choose it in small, unglamorous ways. How you answer when you are tired. Whether you listen or just wait to speak. Whether you keep the small promise you made to yourself when no one was watching.

You choose it, and then you repeat it. Not perfectly. Consistently.

And after a while, the river learns it. Your friends can feel it when they stand next to you. This person steadies the water here. This person turns it toward something kind.

That is identity. Not a thing you find. A shape you practice until the water remembers.

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
