I've come again, and this time the feeling is unusual. I've been thinking about a serious issue — the outbreak of loneliness. It is not only observed in adults anymore. We can now see it in teenagers, young adults, and older people. It is plainly written in their actions and expressions, and it has raised great concern within my heart. It breaks me so deep that we live in loneliness of heart, which I see as a sickness of the mind.

So often I get curious and wonder, why has loneliness become so rampant in our society today? Then realization came to me — individuals grow under different circumstances, which may be:

- Life threatening situations

- Family issues

- Exposure to drugs

- Death of loved ones — parents, guardians or friends

- Financial instability

- A bad system

- Job scarcity

- High crime rate

- Lack of shelter

- Lack of direction

- Lack of growth, perhaps in business

These are most likely what cause this pandemic of loneliness, both in adults and young people.

This plays a negative role in the life of an individual who finds it difficult to find help or someone who can put them through during their "illness of mind." Because loneliness cannot be easily perceived, it is a sickness of the heart that can make one lose their mind.

And you come to realize that what you process in your mind will be the output of your actions.

It is rare to see individuals not getting tired. Many have learned how to stay consistent, because they say consistency is what builds you — which most Nigerians have worn as cloth daily. They keep working, keep showing up, keep being jack of all trades, yet their mind gets tired at some point and makes them question their existence. The question that makes you ask, when exactly will be my turning point to success?

As I've highlighted, the outbreak of loneliness comes in different forms which are alarming. But I will say, in whatever form this pandemic has got you, try as much as possible to break through and escape. People will not listen to your side of the story, they are only interested in your success story, not your pity story. They are only interested in how you turned the table around, which is why you must not give up on yourself or your life.

I bring this resolution to you. Yes, I know you are tired. Of course you are drained and exhausted, but whatever the cause of your loneliness, ensure you fight and figure it out.

If you need to speak up, please do.

Get consultation, if necessary.

Seek family help regarding your case, to ease your burden.

And most importantly, the greatest resolution I will ever bring to you without regret, is seeking God. Know Him, serve Him.

Then He will direct you.

Resolve your problems.

Take care of you.

And replace your negativity and show you reasons not to give up on life, and He will give you a new beginning.

Thanks for reading, kindly consider upvoting, commenting, and if this interests you and impacted you positively, do consider sending me tips for encouragement.

@FP

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
