When Did Asking for Help Become a Weakness?

Somewhere along the line, we started treating people who ask for help like they are not strong enough to handle life.

We praise the person who keeps going, but rarely ask what it costs them to keep going.

We tell people to be strong, to figure things out, to stop complaining. But what happens when someone genuinely needs support?

Why do we sometimes make people feel ashamed for admitting that they are struggling?

Not everyone knows how to say, "I need help."

Some people are afraid of being judged. Some don't want to become a burden. Others have asked for help before and were made to regret it.

And sometimes, the person you think has everything together is simply doing their best to get through the day.

Asking for help doesn't make someone weak. It makes them human.

We all need support at different points in life. And if someone trusts you enough to open up, maybe the first thing they need isn't a lecture.

Maybe they just need to know that someone cares.
