When does self-respect become pride?
<p>We’re always told to know our worth, set boundaries, and never tolerate disrespect. And honestly, I agree. Nobody should have to keep accepting things that hurt them just to keep someone else happy.</p><p><br/></p><p>But sometimes I wonder where the line is.</p><p><br/></p><p>If someone hurts you, is walking away always self-respect? What if they genuinely apologize and you refuse to accept it because you feel they’ve already crossed a line? Is that protecting your peace, or is it pride?</p><p><br/></p><p>What about arguments? Sometimes we say, “I’m not apologizing because I didn’t start it.” Maybe you really weren’t wrong. But does being right always matter more than fixing the relationship?</p><p><br/></p><p>I think self-respect is knowing your value and refusing to let people repeatedly disrespect you. Pride, on the other hand, might be refusing to bend even when bending a little could actually make things better.</p><p><br/></p><p>But then again, where exactly is that line?</p><p><br/></p><p>Maybe it’s different for everyone.</p><p><br/></p><p>When do you think self-respect crosses into pride?</p>
