<p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: So, I have Emmanuel and BigDan here with me today.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Technically, you have one person.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Unfortunately.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Unfortunately?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Don't mind him. Emmanuel has been in a bad mood lately.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: And BigDan has been talking too much lately.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Wait. So you two actually disagree that much?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: We disagree on almost everything.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Not everything.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Name three things.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: We both like good music.</p><p><br/></p><p>*BigDan:* That's one.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: We both like writing.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: That's two.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: We both—</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: You see? He has run out already.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Okay. Let's start there. Who exactly is BigDan?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: My mind.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: And Emmanuel?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: His heart.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Interesting. So which one is in charge?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Me.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Absolutely not.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: See?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Emmanuel, why not?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Because BigDan doesn't know when to stop.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: And Emmanuel doesn't know when to start.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Start what?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Living.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Don't do that.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Do what?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Turn everything into a sentence that sounds deeper than it is.</p><p><br/></p><p>*BigDan:* That's literally my job.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: But is he wrong?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: ...</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Thank you.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Emmanuel, you're the journalist, right?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Yes.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: You ask people questions for a living. You make people open up.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: That's the job.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: So why are you so difficult to interview?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Because I know the questions.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: And he knows all the answers.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Does he?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: No.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: BigDan.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: What? You don't.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: What question don't you have an answer to?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Love.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong style="background-color: transparent;">Faye</strong>: Love?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Yes.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: He's been investigating that case for years. No breakthrough.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: At least I investigate it.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: You investigate it so much that you never participate.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Ouch.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel: </strong>I just don't think love has been particularly kind to me.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: And he's starting to confuse disappointment with destiny.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: BigDan, you sound very confident.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: I have to. Somebody has to keep him together.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: And who's keeping you together?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: ...</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Exactly.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye:</strong> So what's happening to you two lately?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: I don't know.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: We're tired.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Speak for yourself.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: You stopped feeling.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: You stopped writing.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: You stopped believing.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: You stopped creating.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Wait.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Are you two fighting about the same thing?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Maybe.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Probably.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: What have you both lost?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Me.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Us.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: That's different.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Is it?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: I used to feel everything.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: I used to say everything.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Now I don't even know what I feel.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: And I don't know what to write.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: That's why you're here?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Maybe.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: We thought you could unravel it.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Me?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Isn't that what the podcast is called?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong style="background-color: transparent;">Faye</strong>: Faye Unravels?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Exactly.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Okay then. Here's my question.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Emmanuel, what do you want?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: To be loved without having to question whether I am.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: BigDan?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: To create without having to turn every wound into content.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: And what do you need from each other?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: I need him to stop pretending he's okay.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: I need him to stop pretending he doesn't care.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: I care.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: I know.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: I'm just tired.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Me too.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: So maybe neither of you is losing yourself.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Then what are we doing?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye:</strong> Maybe you're just exhausted from protecting yourselves.</p><p><br/></p><p>Silence.</p><p><br/></p><p>For once, BigDan has no joke.</p><p><br/></p><p>For once, Emmanuel has no answer.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Last question.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: If you could say one thing to the other person, what would it be?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: BigDan?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Go ahead.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: You don't have to turn every pain into a story.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: And you don't have to turn every disappointment into a reason to stop believing.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Fair.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Fair.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: So, are you two okay now?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: No.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Not yet.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: But we're talking.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: And maybe that's where we start.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Start what?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Finding ourselves.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Before we completely disappear.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Emmanuel. BigDan.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: Same body. Different voices.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Same problem.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Same heart.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Same mind.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Same man.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>BigDan</strong>: Unfortunately.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Emmanuel</strong>: Shut up.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: And there they are.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Both</strong>: <strong>Laughs</strong>.</p><p><br/></p><p>Maybe we aren't losing ourselves.</p><p><br/></p><p>Maybe we're just learning that even the heart gets tired...</p><p><br/></p><p>And even the mind needs somewhere safe to rest.</p><p><em><br/></em></p><p><em><br/></em></p><h4><strong><em>Faye’s Unraveling...</em></strong></h4><p><br/></p><p>(After the laughter dies down, there’s a beat of silence. Then Faye’s voice softens— she is no longer interviewing. She’s talking to us.)</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Faye</strong>: You know what I loved most about this interview?</p><p>Not that they figured it out.</p><p>They didn’t </p><p>Not that they fixed anything.</p><p>They haven’t.</p><p><br/></p><p>What I love most is that they stayed in the room and listened to each other.</p><p><br/></p><p>Emmanuel and BigDan?</p><p>They’re still arguing.</p><p>They’ve argued today.</p><p>They’ll probably still argue tomorrow.</p><p>But they’re arguing together.</p><p><br/></p><p>Most of us don’t do that.</p><p>When our hearts and minds start fighting, we pick a side.</p><p>We silence one and crown the other.</p><p><br/></p><p>But you don’t have to choose between feeling and thinking. </p><p>You just have to let the both of them speak —</p><p>and stay in the room long enough to hear each other out. </p><p><br/></p><p>Because the moment you stop speaking to yourself?</p><p>That’s when you really disappear.</p><p><br/></p><blockquote><strong>Faye</strong>: (back to host’s voice)<br/>This has been Faye Unravels.<br/>Thank you for listening.<br/>See you next time.</blockquote>
