Food Wahala!

As the rain pours down heavily and the sun announces her temporary resignation, I sit quietly, soliloquizing.

Suddenly, you appear.

Congratulations. You've just been dragged into my dilemma.

Me: I have a bold claim. There should be professional food suggesters.

Me (again): I need to rant. This isn't one of my usual discussions. It's a full-blown rant session.

Kindly sit with me.

You: I'm sat.

Me: Why does adulthood come with so many unnecessary problems? Why?

You: Haba. What happened?

Me: What happened?

Okay, answer me this.

Do you know what you're eating this evening?

You: As how?

Me: Exactly!

I didn't know what to eat yesterday. I don't know what to eat this evening. I have absolutely no idea what I'm eating tomorrow.

This is an unnecessary chore!

I'm burning calories trying to decide what to eat. At this rate, indecision is my workout.

You: It's true sha.

Me: How are Nigerians coping?

Every week it's rice, spaghetti, beans, yam and garri.

You: Don't forget potatoes, eggs, bread, tea, vegetables and fruits.

Both of us: That's all!

Me: Na wa o.

What are Nigerians eating besides these? More importantly, how do you people decide what comes next while still trying to eat a balanced diet?

Because at this point, I need help.

You: I don't know.

Me: Then let's ask them...

So, kindly share your two cents.

What are you eating these days that isn't on this list?

I genuinely need ideas before I find myself eating rice for the fifth time this week.

PS: do you think I should turn this to a series where I share my two cents on Two Cents?
