Today makes one year with Twocents, and I am grateful to God that I stepped in here on that day.

When people say, “God bless the day I met you,” that’s my state rn.

Initially, I wrote this on September 29th or 30th, but that draft was rough. So, I rewrote it today.

When I remember Twocents, I start crying, and I’m not even joking. Call me an emotional person, yes, I’m proudly that because I know where I’m coming from.

I’m coming from a place where I’ve never been believed in. I’m coming from a place of hurt, where I had to smile while carrying it like it didn’t matter.

I’m coming from a place where your gifts don’t matter if they haven’t earned enough to go round.

Call me anything. I know better than to argue.

Whether this earns engagement or not, I won’t stop writing. I won’t stop penning down my thoughts on Twocents. Whether I’m applauded or not, Twocents has proven to me that whatever is inside of me is capable of bringing me to tables I have never imagined.

Tell me, where would I have met Tobi and Cyrus on a normal day?

Tell me where I would have met amazing writers who have become family?

Tell me, where would I, this person who didn’t even look like she would make a name for herself, have gotten the chance to be heard even before the world knows her name?

No, tell me.

So why shouldn’t I cry when I remember Twocents? Why shouldn’t I rain prayers on the brains behind this platform?

Twocents gave me a home I can’t buy. It awakened the belief in myself again, and I can’t pay for that. I no even get the money.

Twocents gave me a space where my voice could be heard without paying a penny. Where I wan take get am?

So, today, I celebrate the first insight that marked my presence on Twocents and the 100th insight with my writers’ family.

A year with Twocents has been nothing short of amazing, and I’m not even kidding.

Firstly, I’d say I bless God because I am very certain there are better writers than I am all over the world that no one has ever heard, or seen their drafts, simply because they haven’t got a platform that works for them.

This is my first reason for being grateful.

My special thanks go to Cyrus and Tobi.

Omo, na people you be o.

No, let’s be frank and sincere. For anyone who is working and is in Nigeria, I don’t know much about you both, but at least I’m aware that Twocents gave me the opportunity to meet you both.

Na person una be.

No, really.

You used your own money to build something, a product for people, thought about your home, your country, and funded it to encourage people one way or the other.

God must not leave you people.

Shooo? For this kind economy?

No, no, no.

I know God sees your hearts more than I do. May He reward you, even beyond this product.

This is nothing but selflessness. You have your personal struggles but still are intentional about supporting others in your little ways.

No, you didn’t seize our works and make them yours. You didn’t make us sign contracts to enslave us.

Wow.

Hmm.

To my amazing family on Twocents I love you all and I'm very grateful for all you do behind the name BIG DEE, una thank you.

And thank you to my amazing writer friends. My fans, thank you too. All my engagers, thank you all. It wouldn’t have been easy without y’all at those times I had decided to give up.

Y’all are sighted, and I don’t pray to ever forget what y’all have done for me and how much of an impact your presence has had on me over the months that I’ve been here.. and now it’s a year!

Help me thank Dolapo for bringing me here. I didn’t know her from Adam, but she allowed me stress her when I wanted to step in at all.

I came in timid.

I came here unsure.

I came here uncertain because 2025, I lost a lot.

But stepping into Twocents…

Hehehehe.

My shoulder pad don high!

Let the second year countdown begin!

Takes a bow and leaves the stage.
