For many of us, education was presented as a simple formula:

Go to school → get a degree → get a good job → live a comfortable life.

But today's reality is much more complicated.

You can spend four or five years in university, graduate with good grades and still struggle to find a job. You can have an impressive certificate and discover that employers are more interested in what you can actually do.

So, does that mean education is no longer important?

Absolutely not.

Education remains one of the most valuable investments anyone can make. But perhaps we need to stop thinking that a degree alone is enough.

The world is changing quickly. Technology is creating new careers, businesses are evolving and employers increasingly want people who can solve problems, communicate effectively and adapt to change.

A certificate may help you get through the door, but your skills may determine whether you stay in the room.

Think about it.

A student may graduate with excellent grades but struggle to write a professional email. Another may have an average degree but know how to code, design, create content, manage social media or build a business.

Who is more prepared for today's world?

The answer isn't always obvious.

This is why students should consider developing practical skills alongside their academic education.

Learn how money works.

Learn how to communicate.

Learn how to use technology.

Learn how to network.

Learn how to solve problems.

Learn how to sell your skills.

Learn how to create something valuable.

And perhaps most importantly, learn how to keep learning.

Because your degree represents what you studied in the past. Your willingness to learn determines how prepared you are for the future.

This doesn't mean everyone needs to become an entrepreneur or abandon university. Not at all.

It simply means that education should be bigger than a certificate.

Your degree can open a door but your skills, character, experience and ability to adapt can determine what happens after you walk through it.

So perhaps the real question isn't:

Is a degree still enough?

Maybe the better question is:

What else am I learning that will help me succeed beyond the classroom?

Because school may prepare you for an examination.

But life will examine you without giving you the questions in advance.

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
