Poesy to Amanda; The Battle of a Black Woman
<p>Like an invisible eye of the sun, I looked at the radiance in her skin </p><p>All I could see. I'm the guardian spirit sent by Mama to accompany her.</p><p>I'm invisible but I saw her step as she step on the last step in the </p><p>plane ladder. Her name is Amanda.</p><p><br/></p><p>She went through my lid as she walked from the airport to the hall</p><p>and from the hall to the high and with her hand she received her honour.</p><p>In talking - a gift I received from her- with foe,folks, friends and family </p><p>Time left her where the were and she looked around the place of silence.</p><p><br/></p><p>I flowed after her like an ocean as she makes for the limo with a " daiba".</p><p>She asked the "daiba" to open the door but the daiba refused...</p><p>"Are you the honoured, you can't be, a woman and a black one?</p><p><br/></p><p>I was angry at this but I left her to fight the battle for her colour and her picture.</p><p>I'm also black though not a woman; the battle she fought and won in silent, pen and book.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>
