<p>Part Five — The Girl in the Mirror</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>She didn't sleep.</p><p><br/></p><p>She sat on her bed until morning, staring at the locked cupboard in her mind.</p><p><br/></p><p>SHE NEVER DIED.</p><p><br/></p><p>Those four words wouldn't leave her.</p><p><br/></p><p>At 6:42 a.m., she finally got up.</p><p><br/></p><p>She walked into the bathroom.</p><p><br/></p><p>Turned on the tap</p><p><br/></p><p>Splash.</p><p><br/></p><p>Cold water hit her face.</p><p><br/></p><p>She looked up.</p><p><br/></p><p>Her reflection stared back.</p><p><br/></p><p>Pale.</p><p><br/></p><p>Tired.</p><p><br/></p><p>Terrified.</p><p><br/></p><p>She wiped her face.</p><p><br/></p><p>Her reflection didn't.</p><p><br/></p><p>She froze.</p><p><br/></p><p>Slowly, she lowered her hand.</p><p><br/></p><p>The reflection kept its hand against its cheek.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then it smiled.</p><p><br/></p><p>She stumbled backward.</p><p><br/></p><p>The reflection leaned closer to the mirror.</p><p><br/></p><p>And whispered:</p><p><br/></p><p>“Do you remember the game?”</p><p><br/></p><p>Her breath caught.</p><p><br/></p><p>“What game?”</p><p><br/></p><p>The reflection's smile disappeared.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Hide and seek.”</p><p><br/></p><p>The bathroom light flickered.</p><p><br/></p><p>Once.</p><p><br/></p><p>Twice.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then went out.</p><p><br/></p><p>She stood in complete darkness.</p><p><br/></p><p>A tiny voice came from inside the mirror.</p><p><br/></p><p>“You hid me.”</p><p><br/></p><p>The light came back on.</p><p><br/></p><p>The mirror was normal.</p><p><br/></p><p>She stared at herself.</p><p><br/></p><p>Nothing.</p><p><br/></p><p>She exhaled shakily.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then noticed something written across the mirror in the steam.</p><p><br/></p><p>Three words:</p><p><br/></p><p>I FOUND YOU.</p><p><br/></p><p>She backed away.</p><p><br/></p><p>Her phone suddenly vibrated.</p><p><br/></p><p>A message.</p><p><br/></p><p>Unknown Number.</p><p><br/></p><p>She opened it.</p><p><br/></p><p>There was only one photograph.</p><p><br/></p><p>Her bedroom.</p><p><br/></p><p>Taken from inside her room.</p><p><br/></p><p>Last night.</p><p><br/></p><p>She zoomed in.</p><p><br/></p><p>There she was.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sitting on her bed.</p><p><br/></p><p>And standing behind her...</p><p><br/></p><p>was Amy.</p><p><br/></p><p>The little girl was smiling.</p><p><br/></p><p>But that wasn't what terrified her.</p><p><br/></p><p>At the bottom of the photograph was a timestamp.</p><p><br/></p><p>3:17 A.M.</p><p><br/></p><p>The exact time she had been asleep.</p><p><br/></p><p>She stared at the picture.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then another message appeared.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Tonight, don't fall asleep.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Her phone went black.</p><p><br/></p><p>And from somewhere inside her bedroom...</p><p><br/></p><p>came the sound of a little girl laughing.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Too late.”</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Part 6........</p><p><br/></p>
