Somewhere in somebody's story,
I am the villain😂
I wonder what my character description says.
Perhaps I'm proud.
Perhaps I'm rude.
Perhaps I've changed.
Perhaps I've become the kind of person
they never thought I'd be.
Funny, because in my own story,
I'm just a girl trying to figure things out.
I said no, and suddenly I was selfish.
I stopped explaining myself, and suddenly I was proud.
I chose my peace, and suddenly I was difficult.
Apparently, the moment you stop being convenient, you become a problem.
Interesting.
But then again,
I have my own version of other people, too.
Someone I once admired
might be the villain in my story.
Someone I once loved
might be the person I no longer understand.
And perhaps, somewhere in their version,
I'm the one who disappointed them.
Who knows?
Maybe the person I think is terrible
is simply someone who got tired of being misunderstood.
Maybe the person who thinks I'm terrible
has only met a version of me
that no longer exists.
Or maybe we really did hurt each other.
Because not every misunderstanding
has an innocent person hiding behind it.
Sometimes, people are wrong.
Sometimes, we're wrong.
And sometimes, two people walk away
from the same situation
with completely different stories.
So I've been thinking...
What if we're all walking around
as the heroes of our own stories,
convinced that our version is the truth?
What if the person you're busy explaining yourself to
has already written your ending?
And what if, no matter how carefully you live,
somebody will still misunderstand you?
Well...
I suppose I cannot control
how people tell my story.
I can only be responsible
for the one I actually live.
And if I'm the villain in somebody else's story,
I hope at least they give my character
some interesting dialogue. 😂
Because if you're going to misinterpret me,
please, at least make the plot worth reading.
After all, I'm the main character in my own life.
And so are you.
