WHEN THE WORLD FORGOT HOW TO FEEL

An original poem about humanity, pain, hope, and the price of being human.

The world is burning, yet we sleep,

While silent souls have wounds too deep.

We build tall walls, we draw hard lines,

And leave compassion far behind.

A child cries beneath the rain,

A mother smiles to hide her pain.

A father walks through dust and fear,

Pretending no one sees his tear.

We ask for peace, then sharpen swords;

We preach of love, then wage our wars.

We pray for heaven, dressed in white,

Yet steal another person's light.

We count our wealth, we praise our fame,

But who remembers the forgotten name?

The hungry wait beside our gates,

While food grows cold on golden plates.

Oh, tell me, world, what have we gained

If hearts grow rich while souls remain

So poor in kindness, starved of care,

That human suffering becomes a prayer?

What is a crown upon a head

When truth is silenced, hope is dead?

What is a throne, what is a name,

If we leave the world wrapped up in shame?

Yet somewhere, still, a candle glows;

A stranger helps where no one knows.

A hand reaches through grief and pain,

A broken heart learns hope again.

A little kindness, quietly given,

Can make the earth feel close to heaven.

One honest word, one brave embrace,

Can put lost hope back in its place.

So let us rise before we fall,

And hear the voiceless, one and all.

Let mercy speak where anger stands;

Let love become our strongest hands.

For when our final sunsets come,

When every battle has gone numb,

The world won't ask how much we owned,

But whose dark nights we helped make dawn.

And if tomorrow speaks our name,

Let kindness be our lasting flame.

Let history write, when we depart:

They left the world with a kinder heart.

For this is truth no gold can buy,

No flag can own, no age deny:

The world is not made great by what we take,

But by the hearts we heal, the hope we wake.
