A lot of people are posting 20/10/2020 to commemorate the 6th anniversary of the infamous #EndSars protests.

To me it is not just about posting and following the trend. The real question is, 6 years after, what have we learnt from the events of 20/10/2020?

We should have learnt that peaceful protests do not work in Nigeria. Any national protest that is organised in this country against the government, they will clamp down hard on it. Fear is the currency in Nigeria. It is either the government fears the people or the people fear the government, but fear is King 👑

It's obvious, we have all learnt that the Nigerian government doesn't give a damn about it's people. They don't care who lives or who dies. We're all just numbers to them.

We have learnt that the government is ready to kill its citizens to maintain its grip on power.

The Nigerian government is authoritarian and totalitarian. When it demands something of it's people, it doesn't negotiate, it takes — by force. The people should have learnt also, that there is no negotiating with this APC government. If you want something from the government, you have to take it by force.

In all of these lessons, one thing is clear. Instead of Nigerians to become more aggressive in their demands for a better society and standard of living, in honour of those who lost their lives on 20/10/2026, we have become more docile and doubled down on spiritualising our problems and suffering.

I will conclude with this. We should have realised that whoever wants to engage in any protests whatsoever, against this Tinubu regime should first, fortify his mind because it is not for the faint-hearted and secondly, fortify his body because your life is important to you and your loved ones but not to the government, it's enforcers and mercenaries. If you like take this for granted because you dey form Christian, they will mow you down like grass, and the world will move on like nothing happened.

Be ready for war, because fighting for your life and existence is war, and know that this government will undoubtedly view any protest against it as an act of war and treason.

Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
