<p>Who sat and watched my infant head, </p><p>When sleeping on my cradle bed, </p><p>And tears of sweet affection shed? </p><p> My Mother </p><p><br/></p><p>When pain and sickness made me cry, </p><p>Who faded upon my heavy eye, </p><p>And wept for fear that I should die? </p><p> My Mother. </p><p> ... </p><p>Poem by Ann Taylor</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Mama Solo( full name Solomon) gave birth to six boys in Abuja Nigeria,no modern cradle just her hands,her love, her mother's hands and her sisters hands.</p><p><br/></p><p>It was a full house.</p><p><br/></p><p>She would feed some with her breast and her mother </p><p>Mama na( her mother) will feed some of the children using cups to put it in the baby's mouth carefully.</p><p><br/></p><p>Her sisters, Three sisters holding the baby's like a cradle,so they could fall asleep.</p><p><br/></p><p>Mama telling them to be careful.</p><p><br/></p><p>Hmm...!</p><p><br/></p><p>Motherhood.</p><p><br/></p><p>No one prepares you for it,</p><p><br/></p><p>It begins when you become pregnant, </p><p><br/></p><p>who told you that lie.</p><p><br/></p><p>Motherhood starts from the moment you are a child.</p><p><br/></p><p>Yes,</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>You see that thing </p><p><br/></p><p>Children do,</p><p>Especially the girl child.</p><p><br/></p><p>Where she carries her teddy bear,water bottle or cardigan and back's it on her back, just because she has seen it and she imitates it subconsciously.</p><p><br/></p><p>That's where it begins.</p><p><br/></p><p>When she sees Aunty Hafsy scolding her brother for matching the chair. That girl will do the same thing when she's able to talk.</p><p><br/></p><p>Or </p><p><br/></p><p>When she's two and she sees a baby.</p><p>She would want to hold that baby, because it's a sense of awareness "Care" built in her </p><p><br/></p><p>Motherhood.</p><p><br/></p><p>When she's Thirty years old in a marriage of four years and the children are not coming but she sees her friends children,she carries them,</p><p>Holds the children. And Plays with them or sings to them.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Motherhood.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>She comes back home late and kisses all of them.</p><p><br/></p><p>Motherhood.</p><p><br/></p><p>She holds them and wishes they should not have come into the world,she can't stop hearing them crying,she can't stop hearing the cries,</p><p><br/></p><p>It's too much.</p><p><br/></p><p>Motherhood</p><p><br/></p><p>Postpartum psychosis hit some women,</p><p><br/></p><p>What is it?</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p> a severe, rare psychiatric emergency that causes a sudden break from reality, delusions, and extreme mood swings in new mothers.</p><p><br/></p><p>Motherhood.</p><p><br/></p><p>That aunty that eats children biscuits but would never allow anything to happen to those children.</p><p><br/></p><p>That aunty that always scolds you.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>9 months is not a qualification,</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>The woman that stood there for you to succeed,to protect you from all dangers the world offers and to avoid you so she won't hurt you.</p><p><br/></p><p>Is a mother </p><p><br/></p><p>To listen to you </p><p>To teach you kindness </p><p>To teach you discipline </p><p>To teach you value.</p><p>To understand you.</p><p><br/></p><p>She shouts so that the world will not burn you </p><p><br/></p><p>She takes you for the doctor's appointment even when you are 30 because her role doesn't change as age do.</p><p><br/></p><p>She has the choice to take your life away from you before you see the light of day but she doesn't.</p><p><br/></p><p>Motherhood is a beautiful experience. Especially for the girl child. </p><p><br/></p><p>She becomes responsible so she could take care of you. </p><p><br/></p><p>She is already responsible but when she has you, she doesn't have an idea of who you'll be but she trains you anyway. </p><p><br/></p><p>She spends time with baby for 9 months and after then she doesn't see baby again,</p><p>She hides away the clothes and cries sometimes seeing them.</p><p><br/></p><p>Motherhood </p><p><br/></p><p>After years of training adult,he leaves her in tears.</p><p><br/></p><p>Hmmm..</p><p> Sad </p><p><br/></p><p>Now </p><p><br/></p><p>She doesn't know you at all, she takes you in and she takes you in as her own. She's a mother </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Motherhood is beautiful.
