My mother said

Wake up Sarah, Kola is here!

And I was like

What's happening here?

Is Kola not dead.

So I opened my eyes and I saw myself chained up and my mother was smiling. Then I decided to behave like I was really paralyzed. I saw a camera in the room. And I started trying to draft

Kola's murder or suicide scene in my head, I just could not get my mind around Kola's disappearance and my mom mentioning his name.

Then I asked her

Why is my hand not moving?

I can't move, what's going on?

My mother gave me a hug and whispered in my ear:

"You deserve what's happening to you"

And my eyes widened

"What's going on here?

Was my mother cloned or something?

Am I just dreaming? "

And I said

Mummy! What do I deserve?

Then she replied out:

Good health, get well soon baby

And I was like

Something is not adding you, and the camera in the room made me wonder more, so I went to sleep back and told myself I'd get better, maybe it's a post comma effect.

But after that day, I felt weaker and weaker and at some point I could not even speak.

I was always just lost in thought but one thing was certain, I really needed to leave the hospital and find Kola. But was it safe to do that?

I could not trust anyone even my own mother, what makes running to Kola a better decision?

So I started pretending, at first

I would crawl, then try to move and avoid every meal my mother prepared because I could not trust her, but something felt off,

I was only allowed to stay in that room. And why did my parents keep me in one room to recover, My parents didn't have enough money, how could they afford keeping me in the hospital for so long???

So I kept on following the act.

I kept trying to recover in that room and behaved like I trusted my mom.

And then I started asking her questions, she was always quiet every time I asked her questions, she'd either brush them off or smile it off and I'm not going to lie, it made me angry each time but it also made me realize something.

The questions I asked were valid, but it seemed like she was scared or she was trying to hide something, but what was it. I told her finally, that I wanted to come home and she was so happy and then she asked me one question

What happened to Kola?

Where did you hide his body??

And I replied

Who is Kola?

Damn, she thought I was going to trust her, nahh, I just want to leave this room and build a life for myself first.

When they eventually trust me, I'm going to find Kola cause he's clearly not dead.
