THE JAPA DREAM 😂✈️ It was one of those evenings when the whole family was sitting together in the living room. Daddy was on his usual spot. Mummy was peeling oranges. The children were doing what children do best—pretending to listen while secretly doing something else. The topic of discussion? *JAPA* “Honestly,” Daddy said, “if we can get the opportunity, I think we should consider leaving.” “Consider?” Mummy asked. “I have already considered it since 2019.” Everybody laughed. One of the children said, “Mummy, where would you even go?” “Anywhere that has light.” “That's not a country.” “I don't care. As long as NEPA doesn't know my address.” 😭 The conversation continued. Canada.UK.America.Money.Visa.Jobs.Accommodation. Everybody had an opinion. Eventually, they all went to bed. Nothing unusual.Or so they thought. That night, one of the children had a strange dream. In the dream, she was in the air. She wasn't exactly sure whether she was inside a plane. She couldn't see the pilot. She couldn't even properly see the aircraft. She only knew one thing: She was travelling. And somehow, she could feel that she was going far away. The next morning, she woke up and went straight to her parents. “Mummy.” “Yes?” “I had a dream.” Mummy stopped what she was doing. “What kind of dream?” “I don't really understand it. I just knew I was travelling. I was in the air. I don't know if it was a plane, but I was just… flying.” Silence. Mummy slowly put down what she was holding. “Flying?” “Yes.” “Flying HOW?” “Mummy, I don't know.” “Were you alone?” “I think so.” “Did you see anybody?” “No.” “Was the sky dark?” “I don't remember.” Mummy's eyes widened. Daddy looked up from his phone. “What's wrong?” Mummy turned to him. “This child said she was flying in her dream.” Daddy paused. “And?” Mummy lowered her voice. “I don't like it.” The child blinked. “Don't like what?” Mummy looked at her suspiciously. “Who have you been talking to?” “Mummy! Nobody!” “Are you sure?” “Yes!” “Did anybody give you anything?” “No!” “Have you eaten anywhere outside recently?” “Mummy, what does food have to do with flying?” 😭Daddy started laughing. “Leave the girl alone. She probably just dreamt about the JAPA conversation we had yesterday.” Mummy immediately turned to him,with a fierce lioness expression 😠 “Honey ,abeg no start that one" 😂😂😂“Yesterday we were talking about travelling. Today she is flying in her dream. You think these things are ordinary?” Daddy stared at her. “Then what do you think she is?” Mummy folded her arms. “I don't know yet.” The child was now genuinely confused. “So… am I travelling or am I possessed?” Nobody answered. Mummy picked up her phone. “I need to call somebody.” “Who?” “Our pastor.” The child shouted: “MUMMY, I JUST DREAMT ABOUT A PLANE!” Mummy replied: “Exactly. And that's how it starts.” 😭😭😭 Daddy couldn't hold himself anymore. He burst out laughing. “Please, let this child breathe!” Mummy ignored him. “Everybody should pray tonight.” The child quietly walked away. Five minutes later, she came back. “Mummy?” “What?” “Can I tell you something else?”Mummy froze. “What?” “I think the place I was travelling to looked nice.”Mummy's eyes widened. “Jesus!” Daddy nearly fell off his chair. “Now what?” Mummy pointed at the child. “She has already seen the destination!” 😂😂😂And just like that, what started as a simple family discussion about JAPA had become a full-blown spiritual investigation. Nobody was talking about visa again. Nobody was talking about Canada. They were now discussing who might be behind the dream. Meanwhile, the child was just standing there thinking: “I should have kept my mouth shut.” 😭✈️
