You'd think money is the root of all evil until you meet religion.

Introducing religion.

The one thing that doesn't have a single face, a single origin, or even a single form, yet somehow manages to have an immense amount of authority.

I say this as someone who has had close contact with religious matters.

Almost every society in the world has some form of religion. Thousands of religious traditions have existential across human history. Different gods. Different prophets. Different scriptures. Different rules. Different ideas about what happens after we die.

Yet somehow, religion remains one of those things that feels almost impossible to escape.

It is in our homes.

In our schools.

In our marriages.

In our politics.

In our businesses.

Sometimes, it is even on the bus with us.

Every other day you get on a bus and someone is preaching or praying.

Suddenly everyone has been "called","anointed"

It has no single face, yet we know its voice.

It has no single form, yet it shapes the way millions of people live.

It is not something you can simply point at and say, “There it is.”

And yet, it is everywhere.

Watching.

Guiding.

Judging.

At least, that is what we are taught. Right from the moment we were born, there has been one religion or the other in our lives. Our parents can't even name us on their own, they have to go through the "proper channels".

We're born into them.

We inherit them.

We defend them.

We pass them on.

We build our lives around them.

Sometimes I wonder what me need so many religion for?

At some point, people began believing different things about the world, about God, about morality, about death and what comes after it. Those beliefs became traditions. Traditions became institutions. Institutions became systems that could outlive the people who created them.

And eventually, some of us stop asking why.

Religion gives people meaning. It gives people community. It gives people hope.

But it also has something else.

Authority.

Because there is a difference between saying, “This is what I believe,” and saying, “This is what God says.”

One is a belief.

The other can become a command.

And once something is believed to have God's approval, questioning it can become more than disagreement. It can become disobedience. Rebellion. Sin.

That is where my curiosity begins.

Because religion isn't just something people believe in on Sundays.

It has followed humanity through history.

It has stood beside kings and governments.

It has marched alongside armies.

It has entered our homes and decided what is moral, what is sinful, what is acceptable and what is forbidden.

It has found a place in our wallets too.

And perhaps that is what fascinates me most about it.

Something with no single face can have so many faces.

Something that exists differently across cultures can hold so much power over people who may never agree on what it actually is.

So maybe the question isn't simply whether religion is good or evil.

Maybe the question should be:

What happens when human beings gain the power to speak in God's name?

What happens when the name of the one we believe in is now used to pass on propaganda because we cannot "disobey '?

Maybe that's where this conversation should begin.

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
